⭐️ ⭐️Employee commendation ⭐️ ⭐️
Whilst on call last night, our supervisor Debbie received a call from care professional Maddie informing her that a customer was unwell and that an ambulance had been requested. Debbie immediately contacted two other care professionals to support with the care visits scheduled for Maddie, enabling her to remain with the customer requiring medical attention.
Care professional Karen went above and beyond for her colleague Maddie.
Karen attended the property where Maddie was awaiting emergency services to check that she was okay and to see if she needed anything. Maddie had left her drink in the car, so Karen stayed with the customer while Maddie went to retrieve it. Like many dedicated professionals on the road, Karen had snacks in her car, which she kindly shared with Maddie while they waited for the ambulance.
When Debbie later contacted Maddie for an update, she was informed that the ambulance wait time had increased to approximately five hours. Maddie was becoming anxious as both of her phones were running low on battery her only means of communication with emergency services. Once again, Karen came to the rescue and offered to deliver a phone charger to Maddie. What a trooper!
Both Debbie and Maddie were overwhelmed by Karen’s kindness and consideration. In care, our priority is always the vulnerable individuals we support but it is just as important that we look out for one another too.
