That’s a wrap for us for 2025 after a very busy final few weeks of the year.

Thank you to all our friends, family, and customers for your continued support throughout the year, and to everyone who has liked, shared, or commented on our posts, or sent messages of encouragement.

A special thank you to Carly House and Kathryn Davies for their encouragement and support, for putting up with countless phone calls throughout the day, and for generally putting up with our bu****it.

Bookings for 2026 are already starting to come in, and Evolve PMVA will continue to grow throughout the year ahead.

We have had a brilliant week delivering a bespoke PMVA package in South Wales to a local children's service. A fantastic group of learners that not only were keen to learn, but made the courses very enjoyable.

All feedback we received was 100% positive, with the overarching theme that the courses were fun and informative. Hearing this feedback reinforces that we are delivering our courses exactly how we plan to do so.

We are big advocates for creating a relaxed learning environment, in turn, we feel this is how we get the most out of learners and dispels any fear or anxiety they may have around attending a PMVA course.

To put it simple, we don't run our courses like a bootcamp!!

Philip recently attended one of our bespoke PMVA courses in Warrington. He told us this wasn’t the first time he’d attended PMVA training, he’d actually done it several times before.

But after completing our course, Philip was keen to leave us a positive video review, saying it was the best PMVA course he had attended. He highlighted that:

According to the British Retail Consortium (Jan 2025), violence and abuse against retail staff has surged to over 2,000 incidents every single day.
That’s almost double the previous year, and with the festive season shopping rush due to kick in imminently, this is likely to rise in the coming weeks.

We have recently been rolling out our Conflict Resolution and Breakaway training to some local retailers here in Wales, who have been dealing with staff facing aggressive and threatening customers.

Staff reported that they felt intimidated and weren’t sure what they could or couldn’t do if a customer grabbed them or tried to assault them. They said they were worried that if they defended themselves, they might get hurt or risk getting into trouble with the Police.

Our Conflict Resolution and Breakaway curriculum covers all the underpinning theory and knowledge, informing learners of what they can and cannot do when faced with an aggressor in the eyes of the law. It also teaches de-escalation, communication skills, and the necessary safe disengagement techniques to enable staff to move away safely from a potential assault.

Our training isn't just a tick box exercise, or a 10 minute online course, it's practical training that actually contributes to keeping staff safe.

Since taking part in our training, local retailers in Wales have reported that their staff now feel more confident, safer, and better informed when dealing with challenging customers.

We’ve been a little quiet on socials recently, for good reason. Last week we attended our annual GSA Tutor Update, a core requirement to continue delivering accredited, high-quality PMVA training.

Both of us achieved A-grade tutor status, adding to our combined total of 20+ tutor updates, plus our initial 3-week tutor training programme.

We know that attending a PMVA course can sometimes feel a bit daunting for some people.

It’s not unusual to hear comments like:

But our approach is different.

We don’t run our courses like boot camps, we focus on creating a relaxed, welcoming environment where everyone feels included and supported. Our aim is to help you feel relaxed, confident, by doing this we feel we get the most out of people.

And when that happens, the results speak for themselves. People leave with a smile, feeling more confident in their role, and often telling their colleagues how enjoyable the course was, which helps break the cycle of fear and anxiety around future training.
