Kate’s Funeral Details:
Hi family and friends,
Here are the confirmed details of Kate’s Funeral which will take place on Friday, May 26th. Please note that the dress code is smart casual, black is not required and colours are actively encouraged!
The Church Service commences at 11.30am and will last approximately 45 minutes.
Please arrive at church no later than 11.20am and take your seats.
Eccleston Methodist Church, 10 Bradley Lane, Eccleston, Chorley, PR7 5TQ
If you wish to follow the hearse, it will be leaving from Harvey’s Funeral Home, 180 The Green, Eccleston, Chorley, PR7 5SU at 11.10am.
The Committal commences at 12.30pm and will last about 20 minutes. The Crematorium is a 10-minute car journey from the church.

Finally, the family would be delighted if you could join them to share your memories of Kate over a brew or a drink and a bite to eat following the committal – approximately 1.15pm

Please bring along a copy of your favourite photograph of Kate to add to her memory book which will be available at the wake. Here is one of ours.
In lieu of flowers, we would welcome donations to Kate’s preferred charities. There will be an online link available shortly but alternatively, there will be collection boxes at the services on Friday. Thank you.
Archie’s Trust – The family have set up an account for Archie. Any monies will be held in trust for Archie until he leaves school.
The Haematology Ward, Victoria Hospital, Blackpool - This is where Kate was looked after during her illness and then through end-of-life care, supported by the Swan Team. The staff were incredible.
Leukaemia UK – Over 3000 people are diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in the UK each year. Only 15% of sufferers survive beyond 5 years. Leukaemia UK are working to improve outcomes and develop kinder and more effective treatments.
MacMillan Cancer Support – We received exemplary support from MacMillan when our dad was suffering with cancer.
Royal Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals – Kate loved all animals (especially cats, dogs, guinea pigs, ducks, and tortoises) and campaigned for animals to be treated well, always. She was also given to adopting strays.
Royal National Lifeboat Institute. A family favourite given our seafaring ancestry.
Friends of Eccleston Library. Kate was an active member of their committee and a keen reader.
