We’re pleased to share that, through our WayFinder ACAC offer, former learner Ben has secured a voluntary placement at Brightholmelee Community Café. ☕✨

Ben has been gaining practical experience by taking food to customers, clearing tables, and supporting the day-to-day running of the café - valuable skills that will support his progression into the hospitality sector.

He particularly enjoyed the customer service aspect of the role, and the café team shared that he has been a great help and a welcome addition. 👏

Kieran started his Supported Internship this week and braved the cold on his first day with Eckington Parish Council. 🌱

He’s working as a cemetery operative with the grounds maintenance team, and got straight into learning how to safely use the lawn mower - he picked it up so well he even had to re-fuel after his first go.

A brilliant first day for Kieran. We’re excited to see how he continues to grow over the coming months. 👏

Congratulations to our WayFinder team, who have just won the Large Supported Employment Team award at the BASE - British Association for Supported Employment Awards 2025!💜🏆

This national recognition celebrates the work of our WayFinder team and our fantastic Job Coaches, who go above and beyond to support people into meaningful, sustained employment. It is a brilliant moment for everyone involved.

It’s been fantastic to join so many teams across the sector at Wembley Stadium connected by EE, who are driving supported employment forward. Thank you to BASE for bringing everyone together and highlighting the impact happening across the country.

A massive well done to the WayFinder team and our Job Coaches. A well-deserved achievement.👏🏼

Kieran recently attended his meet and greet at Eckington Cemetery, where he’ll soon be starting his supported internship. He made a fantastic impression, asking lots of thoughtful questions and showing real enthusiasm for getting started.

Kieran is really looking forward to his new role, which will see him taking on a range of practical tasks including grass cutting, strimming, grave cleaning, grave digging, and general site maintenance.

This is a brilliant opportunity for Kieran to develop his skills, gain valuable work experience, and build his confidence in a real-world setting. Everyone at Landmarks is incredibly proud of him and excited to see how he progresses in his new placement!

Joe, who began his Supported Internship just three weeks ago, has fully embraced his role and is settling in exceptionally well. Today, he learned how to make pizzas using the restaurant’s stone ovens, a new skill he approached with pure enthusiasm.

The Head Chef shared the following feedback about Joe’s performance:
“I am extremely pleased with Joe’s progress so far. He has demonstrated a level of skill and professionalism that exceeds expectations for his stage of development. In fact, I have worked with Junior Chefs in the past who were not operating at Joe’s current level.”

Well done, Joe, keep up the excellent work!

Today, we had the pleasure of presenting to delegates at the EMCCA SEND Community of Practice: Careers Leaders & Enterprise Advisers Conference in Renishaw.

We shared insights about Landmarks Specialist College, highlighting our educational pathways, the impactful work of our Wayfinder Team, and the success of our Supported Internship Programme.

The highlight of the session was being joined by Kevin, a former intern, who spoke about his journey through his Supported Internship and his continued employment with Greene King. It was fantastic to hear how his role has grown, with his working hours increasing since his initial offer, a real testament to the success of our programme and his personal development.

It was a proud moment to showcase the difference our partnerships and dedicated teams make in helping learners achieve meaningful employment outcomes.

We had a record number of learners join us, both past and present, and the energy was incredible. From cooking pizzas in our fabulous bistro, to pool, board games, games consoles, and even karaoke, there was something for everyone to enjoy!

It’s Jonny’s first day on his Supported Internship at The Brentwood Hotel, and he’s already making a fantastic impression. Alongside completing parts of his induction, he has jumped straight into preparing meals and serving them to customers.

Jonny’s ambition is to build a career in catering. In his own words: “I want to get a job as I really love cooking.” He is also eager to develop his hospitality skills within the hotel environment. This internship is a perfect match for Jonny’s goals, and we wish him every success as he takes this exciting next step.
