šŸƒā€ā™‚ļø Meet Jake Russell.

26-year-old Jake is taking on the London Marathon this Sunday (26 April) which is his second time running the iconic race.

Jake has been part of Jami and Jewish Care for two years, helping organise events that raise vital funds and awareness. Seeing firsthand how these services change lives is what drives him.

ā€œMental health is underfunded, and Jami provides support so many people rely on. That’s why this matters.ā€ šŸ«¶šŸ¼

Through injury and setbacks, Jake is pushing for the finish and will be cheered on by friends, family, and a well-earned celebratory drink at the end.

We’re proud to share that young people supported by Jami’s Dangoor Children and Young Person’s Service have helped shape a new online national mental health guide created by YoungMinds, in collaboration with Jami.

Young Jewish service users aged 11–25 shared their lived experiences, challenges and hopes – helping ensure the guide truly reflects the realities of Jewish identity, faith, community and wellbeing. Insights highlighted the strength many find in traditions and community, alongside the impact of rising antisemitism and the wider political climate on young people’s mental health.

The result is a culturally sensitive, faith aware mental health guide for young Jewish people, now live on the YoungMinds website.
Thank you to every young person who contributed – your voices are shaping support for others.

This Pesach, please help us support more people like Debbie. 🌼

When Debbie first came to Jami, she felt her life was unravelling. Serious physical health challenges and the loss of the daily routine she relied on caused her mental health to deteriorate. Everyday tasks became overwhelming, and she felt anxious, uncertain and alone.

At Jami, we believe recovery looks different for everyone. Our person-centred mental health support helps people take small, steady steps towards rebuilding their lives.

But our services rely entirely on the generosity of people like you.

Your donation this Pesach will help ensure that no one in our community has to face mental illness alone and that Jami can be there every step of the way.

🌼 This Pesach, you can make a real difference.

When Debbie first came to Jami, she felt like everything was falling apart. Ongoing physical health challenges and the loss of her daily routine had a deep impact on her mental health. Even simple tasks felt overwhelming, and she was left feeling anxious, uncertain, and alone.

At Jami, we know that recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all. With compassionate, person-centred support, we help people take small, meaningful steps towards rebuilding their confidence and their lives.

šŸ’› But we can’t do it without you.

This Pesach, your support will help ensure that no one in our community has to face mental illness alone and that Jami can be there when it matters most.

Take a moment for yourself this Social Prescribing Day. 🌿

Social prescribing is all about choosing simple, positive actions that support your wellbeing—whether that’s moving your body, learning something new, or connecting with others. Small steps can have a big impact on how we feel.

At JC Explore, we offer a variety of engaging sessions, including art, history, chair yoga, Pilates, mindfulness, and digital skills—helping you stay active, curious, and connected.

You can also join us at Head Room, Jami's social enterprise cafƩ, supported by The Maurice Wohl Charitable Foundation, where our welcoming cafƩ hosts groups designed to support your mental health and wellbeing. From gentle movement and relaxation sessions, as part of our walking group to creative and social activities, Head Room is the perfect place to unwind, build confidence, and meet others in a supportive environment.

Why not ā€œprescribeā€ yourself something uplifting today? Try a class, take time to pause, or reach out and connect.

Your wellbeing matters—make it a priority. šŸ§”šŸ’œ

Panic Support Group – 6 Week Programme
Feelings of panic can sometimes be a signal that something isn’t quite right, but the experience itself can be distressing, frightening, and isolating. When panic shows up repeatedly or begins to interfere with everyday life, it can make the world feel smaller and harder to manage.

Our 6-week Panic Support Group offers a supportive space to gently explore what drives panic, learn practical and compassionate tools for managing symptoms, and build confidence in living well even when panic may arise.

This interactive and supportive group will create space to share experiences, connect with others, and learn evidence-based strategies to better understand and respond to panic.

This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating every kind of mum — including those for whom today doesn’t feel easy.

Being a mum is often painted as joyful… but the truth is, it can also be overwhelming, exhausting, challenging and at times incredibly lonely. And when your child is struggling with their mental health, the weight you carry can feel even heavier.

If this resonates with you, please know: you’re not alone, and you don’t have to hold everything by yourself. Our Carer Family Support Team is here for mums (and dads) who are supporting a young person or a mature child through mental health challenges.

We offer a safe, understanding space to talk, connect, and get support. If you need someone to talk to or want to know more about our carers support services, reach out jamiuk.org/carers

University Mental Health Day: You’re Not Alone.

Student life can seem like an almost endless opportunity for socialising. It feels as though there’s something for everyone from grabbing a coffee in the SU, chatting with course mates and housemates, to club nights, events, societies, student government and volunteering.
And yet, students are increasingly becoming one of the loneliest populations in the UK.
Loneliness can affect anyone, and it can lead to low mood, increased anxiety, and a drop in self‑esteem. Most of us will feel lonely at some point — it’s completely normal.
But normal doesn’t mean you have to struggle alone.
šŸ’¬ If you're finding things difficult, support is here.
Jami is here for you, and so are a range of organisations ready to support your wellbeing and help you navigate life on campus.
šŸ’»Try our Online Talking Therapies Service

We are the Mental Health service for our community.

For 30 years Jami has provided practical and emotional support for the mental health of the Jewish community. Jami’s vision is a Jewish community which accepts, acknowledges and understands mental illness. A community which is resilient and has the capacity and capability to be healthy. A community in which symptoms of mental illness are as recognisable as a heart attack and trigger an equally appropriate First Aid response. A community in which Parity of Esteem is a reality and an environment which helps, not hinders recovery.

We work with individuals, communities and organisations to help prevent mental illness from developing, improve early intervention and promote wellbeing.

We understand that everyone’s experience of mental illness is different. We provide practical and emotional support for everyone affected by a mental health problem, the person with the diagnosis, friend, relative or employer. This includes:

Supporting around 1,300 people at any one time and reaching thousands more through our community education
