I was touched by a quote from Gabor Mate recently:
‘Safety is not the abscence of threat, it is the presence of connection’.
It is this connection we strive to provide during each session. A connection between therapist and client, and the connection, for each of us, with our own body.

It’s great to feel increasingly confident about meeting up indoors. I have been lucky to continue face to face work throughout the pandemic but I am deeply grateful to all of you who are getting vaccinated once your turn comes. This makes my job and those of all essential workers, so much safer.
If you cant bare to have the jag I will still be happy to see you but would ask that you wear your mask in the treatment room. I will always wear mine for your protection.
Many thanks to you all,
Rachel

January 21st,
Hi everyone. Its hard to keep up at the moment. We are back in full lockdown so I’m not seeing routine patients for the next few weeks but do get in touch if you are really struggling as some ‘essential treatments’ are allowed and I can be of support by zoom for virtual treatments as during the first lock down. Some people find this really useful and Im happy to talk you through it. You need a computer, tablet or phone with camera. If you have a separate camer that makes it even better but is not essential.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Meanwhile DO go outdoor as much as you can to stay sane, and keep washing those hands!
A patient, courageous New Year to you all.
May this inward facing time inspire as well as challenge us!

CST for COVID

Over the past months I have often felt confused, pulled in different directions by the ever changing ‘rules’, and that I’ve lost my sense of what really matters. At these moments it is hard to remain confident and trust my instincts as I go about my daily life.
During a craniosacral treatment I come to a quieter, steadier place inside. Nagging doubts and uncomfortable dilemmas take second place to a connection with my body. Pain and tension loosen their grip, my shoulders are looser and I breath more freely.

After a session I am more able to respond to the demands of work and the needs of those around me without being thrown off course. I am more comfortable, resilient, and less judgemental, both of others but more importantly, of myself.
