The smell of freshly baked treats has been filling the home recently as residents rolled up their sleeves to make empire biscuits and scones. There was plenty of laughter and maybe a little flour flying as everyone joined in with mixing, cutting and decorating.

The finished bakes were, of course, enjoyed with a nice cup of tea in the lounge. Baking sessions like these are always a favourite, giving residents the chance to share recipes, swap stories, and enjoy that wonderful feeling of creating something together.

We have been talking about how we make the home more homely and asking residents and families what we could do. A common theme was naming our floors. We had so many wonderful suggestions we decided to name our corridors. We went with flowers as was the most popular choice. One of our wonderful residents John chose sunflower, we have named Johns corridor with his choice. He was over the moon and enjoyed posing for a picture under our new signs.

David is passionate about providing delicious and nutritious menus and always delivering his lovely creations with a smile

St. George’s School music department staff and children came in for a singing session at our care home. It was one of the most enjoyable and engaging experiences for both the residents and the children.

We had many entertainers and musicians come in for sing-alongs, dancing, and creating a cheerful atmosphere in the home.

Our pet therapy sessions are something our residents look forward to, as they enjoy spending time with guinea pigs: Elvis, George, Rinko, and Franko.

We celebrated Mother’s Day at our home by organising an afternoon tea for the residents. We decorated the lounge and dining area with banners and flowers, adding thoughtful details to the table decorations. Our chef baked delicious cakes for the event. Our residents had a memorable day sharing stories with one another and the staff.

We took a delightful trip to Craigie’s Farming Deli and Café, where five of our residents enjoyed a lovely coffee date. With the beautiful scenery to admire and the aroma of freshly brewed teas and coffees in the air, it was a wonderful outing filled with lively conversation. Our residents cherished the opportunity to connect with each other while savouring some delicious refreshments. We look forward to more adventures like this in the coming months!

We had a very busy December - our management team came up with the idea of conducting a Gingerbread House Decorating Competition for staff with the residents and visitors deciding the winner. The competition was a huge success with many staff actively taking part.

Our residents took their role as judges very seriously, carefully inspecting each house before picking their winner. It was a close competition, but in the end, our home manager Kieran was crowned the victor. A huge well done to Kieran and everyone who took part! Visitors to the home also got involved, casting their votes and adding to the fun of the day.
