Psychodynamic therapy focuses on understanding how your past experiences, especially early relationships, shape your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours today.

It’s about exploring patterns, uncovering underlying emotions, and gaining insight into what might be driving certain reactions or difficulties.

Over time, this deeper understanding can help you make sense of things, break unhelpful patterns, and feel more in control moving forward!

It depends on the individual.

Some people make a full recovery with the right support, while others learn to manage their symptoms effectively over time.

Approaches like therapy, lifestyle changes, and sometimes medication can all play a role, with evidence-based treatments such as CBT showing strong success rates.

The focus is always the same.

Improving wellbeing and helping people feel more in control of their day-to-day life.

Supporting someone in a mental health crisis can feel overwhelming.

Stay calm, listen without judgement, and let them feel heard. It’s okay to ask directly if they’re thinking about harming themselves - it shows you care.

If you can, reduce immediate risks, stay with them, and help them reach professional support.

Don’t keep safety concerns a secret, and remember to look after your own wellbeing too.

Mental health outcomes can vary significantly depending on circumstances.

In England, higher rates of mental health problems are seen in more deprived areas compared to less deprived ones.

It highlights the wider role that environment, access, and life conditions can play in overall wellbeing and is something to stay aware of!

For most people, yes.

Research shows online therapy can be just as effective as in-person sessions, particularly for things like anxiety and depression.

It also offers added benefits like convenience, better accessibility, and the comfort of being in your own space.

Panic attacks can feel overwhelming when they start.

But there are a few simple things you can do in the moment to help regain control.

Start with your breathing.

Slow it right down. Breathe in for 4, hold for 4, and out for 4. Keep that rhythm going until your body begins to settle.

Then bring your focus back to your surroundings.

Try the 5-4-3-2-1 method.
5 things you can see
4 things you can hear
3 things you can touch
2 things you can smell
1 thing you can taste

It helps anchor you back in the present.

It’s also important to remind yourself of this.

A panic attack will pass. They often peak within around 10 minutes, even if it doesn’t feel like it at the time.

And if you can, stay where you are, as long as you feel safe. Let it move through rather than trying to escape it.
