Anxiety is s**t.
I wouldn't wish it on anyone. If you have it or have had it then you know it can take over your day to day life - it gradually makes your world smaller and smaller.
Stress is about the here and now - anxiety is what if, what might be, the future unknown.
It's cyclical maybe you wake up without it!
But then you notice that you've woken without it, and you wonder if it will come today.. Then you wonder when.. and by now your heart rates gone up a little and you know that's a sign so it's coming.. so your heart rate rises more.. it's almost like you called it and invited it in.
You're not at fault.
It's your mind and your body doing what they're supposed to do activate the defense mechanism to keep you safe, they just have the wrong idea about what you need protection from.
And it feels like you call it on because you don't want it to happen, so you're looking out for it in an attempt to control it or in the hopes that you get a free pass this time.
So many things can cause anxiety.
GENERALISED Anxiety I'll cover another time (nutshell = it's where you don't know the cause).
Usually a combination of working on the thing that brings anxiety (public speaking, social situations, work meetings or presentations, driving etc.) and working on self esteem and confidence, how you feel about yourself - that's what really provides the support and tools to help you fully realise that you are able to deal with any variation of these scary things that make you anxious.
Four to twelve sessions of hypnosis usually sort out anxiety, and scoop up other insecurities along the way. It's powerful stuff.
