Alcohol is such a nuanced topic. I could have a whole page dedicated to it.
Alcohol is not healthy, I wish it was and I did not have to take it out of client's lives but years of clinical trials have shown over and over without doubt that it does not do us any favours. At all! The list of alcohol related conditions, crime, social economical impacts and health implications is long, depressing and stark.
However, alcohol exists in our society (more than most others) and in our lives and can when enjoyed responsibly be wonderful fun, good for our souls and not cause us unreasonable damage.

Rather than ban you all from drinking, I want to give you more information to make the best decisions for your health and your fun.

Darling listen to me, you are not broken, damaged, hopeless, helpless, beyond help or a shell of a human.
You did not bring this upon yourself, get yourself into this mess or cause it to happen.
Your chronic illness, daily struggles, illnesses, niggles and fertility struggles are not your fault.
It is international women's day on Monday which is brilliant but instead of one day a year, why don't we treat ourselves with love, compassion and kindness every day of the year?
All the statements I have written at the beginning of this post I have heard from my female clients over the last two weeks. We need to change the language around chronic illness and fertility difficulties, we need to replace the guilt stick with an empowerment hurricane.

Eating for positive health outcomes does not have to be complex or expensive.
More often that not it is the simple, humble foods that pack the most nutritious power.
In a world where we are always reaching for the new shiny cure all, let's not forget the powerful food we already have access to. Applied in the right way, I have seen all five of these foods change clients lives. Now that is empowering.

What would happen if you decided to ignore your fear for a day?
What would happen if you took a chance and tried something just to see if it worked out?
What would happen if you let laughter guide you?
What would happen if you remembered how wild you really are, how free you are to shape your own path (even in Lockdown)?

I know it sounds mad, but the start of answering these questions is understanding what food can do for you.
When you eat the right foods for you, your engery increases, your niggling symptoms reduce and you just start to feel better. When that happens it gives you space to consider life's bigger questions and allows you to follow your own wisdom more.
