Part 3 on causes of back pain, Pec Major. Often forgotten about when looking at back pain, this muscle is prone to shorten and tighten as we sit over desks.
This tightness causes tension and further pulls on the already lengthened and weakened muscles of the upper back, exacerbating the problem of shoulder rounding.
Massage therapy can help release this tension, with techniques such as positional release and MET, helping to lengthen the pecs and restore them to their original position and causing pain.
