Hello, I'm Tom, a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. Life can throw many difficulties our way. Many of us deal with mental health difficulties at some point in our life, whether that be a diagnosed condition such as depression or anxiety or generally having low self esteem or dealing with a difficult breakup.
Therapy can provide us with ways to help manage and deal with these difficulties as well as being an immensely rewarding journey in which we often learn more about ourselves.
I understand that seeking therapy can be daunting. My aim is to make the therapeutic process as collaborative as possible and like to empower my clients to develop the skills and confidence they need to maintain their mental well-being over the long term.
I work with clients who may be experiencing a diagnosed condition such as anxiety, depression, phobia, OCD or PTSD. However, you may also be dealing with less specific difficulties in life such as low confidence, low self esteem, relationship issues and lack of motivation.
Whilst my therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), with the therapy being goal driven and outcome orientated. I like to integrate a person-centred and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) approach into my methodology. In doing so I hope to create a warm, empathetic and safe space for you to be able to share whatever difficulties you may be encountering.
