I’m excited to share that I’ll be attending the British Sauna Society’s Sauna Master Training in St Andrews at the end of February - the first time this accredited course is being delivered in Scotland.

This feels like a natural next step for me & JustBe. A chance to deepen my understanding, honour tradition and explore how guided heat, aroma and intention can gently support emotional balance and wellbeing.

Sauna has long been a place of ritual, reflection and reconnection. With the growing popularity of Aufguss in the UK - combining essential oils with rhythmic towel movements, this feels like an ideal time to learn more about the craft.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve experienced a wide range of sauna ceremonies, heat bathing cultures and the quirky felt hats in Munich, Sirmione, Copenhagen and closer to home here in Scotland. Each has offered its own rhythm, pace and sense of presence, yet all share the same quiet invitation: to quiet the mind, focus on the breath and just be.

Today might be widely recognised as Blue Monday, often labelled the most challenging day of the year. If January feels heavy, you’re not alone.

I read a friend’s New Year post “New Year, same you” and it really resonated. This season doesn’t always call for big goals or transformation, sometimes it calls for gentleness, warmth and small, supportive choices.

For me, that’s looked like trying something new that includes Hotpod Yoga, slowing down and taking comfort in the signs that the days are already beginning to stretch.

In the week that’s seen major multiples launch new nutrient-dense food ranges, it felt like the perfect opportunity to explore whether nutrient-dense skincare might be the next evolution of clean beauty. Just as with food, this way of thinking isn’t about doing more, it’s about going back to basics. Choosing fewer, more purposeful ingredients that truly nourish, support the skin barrier and work with the body rather than overwhelm it. Because when skincare is thoughtfully made and rich in what the skin actually needs, less really is enough.

Welcoming the New Year in Copenhagen, known as one of the happiest cities in the world and enjoying Danish traditions which include:

Watching the King’s New Year’s speech, standing on a chair and jumping into the New Year at midnight (a Danish must 🇩🇰), to a warming mug of spiced gløgg. Especially enjoyed a time in Aires Ancient Baths which are underneath the Carlsberg distillery 👙🍺
