The ball makes an appearance regularly in both our Mat & Reformer classes.
It keeps things interesting and both challenges and supports the body in different ways -
✔️ INSTABILITY - the ball forces the core to work harder when used to create an unstable surface.
✔️ RESISTANCE - squeezing the ball with various different parts of our body for isolated muscle engagement.
✔️ IMPROVED FORM - placing the ball behind chest, back of head can help guide the body into a better alignment and assist with exercises.
✔️ INCREASED FOCUS - using the ball as a visual guide to follow with your eye line can improve concentration and deepen stretches.
✔️ INJURY ASSISTANCE - A partially inflated ball can be used to cradle your head or support your lower back, providing reassurance and allowing for gradual strengthening during rehabilitation.

Hello! I’m Clare and I formed Pilates & Yoga for all in 2016.
After experiencing back, hip, neck and knee problems and having operations on my hips, Pilates became my saviour. I practised for many years before becoming and instructor, first in Pilates and Yoga came later to really hone my skill set. I would love nothing more than to pass on this fantastic way of body conditioning and hope that everyone can experience the benefits as I have done.
I teach in various studios and gyms all over Edinburgh including Edinburgh Leisure, Bannatynes, Edinburgh College, Nuffield Health and Village Gyms.
I also run my own private classes and small individual sessions.
I specialise in GP Referrals and Exercise Therapy for special populations or anyone who may requite extra attention due to ailment or injury.
