🎉 Birthday Celebrations 🎂

We’ve had a wonderful time celebrating some very special birthdays here at Lauder Lodge.
Our talented chef created the most delicious homemade birthday cakes, beautifully decorated and made with love for each resident. 🍰💛
Residents enjoyed celebrating with friends and our lovely team, sharing laughter and plenty of sweet treats. It is always such a joy to mark these special milestones together and make lasting memories.

Our residents have been making the most of the brighter days by planting beautiful spring flowers in our garden 🌷🌼
There were plenty of smiles (and a little bit of muddy fun!) as everyone got hands-on choosing their favourite blooms and giving them a new home in our planters. Gardening is such a lovely way to enjoy fresh air, gentle exercise, and great conversation.
We also enjoyed a relaxing garden walk, spotting the first signs of spring and chatting about favourite flowers and memories of gardens past. 🌸
We can’t wait to watch everything grow over the coming weeks! 🌿✨

The highlight of Resident’s Week at Lauder Lodge has to be our wonderful hairdressing service with Carol ✂️💇‍♀️

Sr Margaret enjoyed getting her hair cut & permed and shared a lovely compliment with Carol - “You cheer people up more than anyone.” 💛

Our residents absolutely love having this service available. It’s more than just a haircut - it helps them feel refreshed, confident and themselves.

We are delighted to welcome Benji the pet therapy dog to our home, what a difference he made! 🐶✨

There were smiles all around as residents enjoyed cuddles, gentle pats, and some heart-warming companionship. It’s amazing how much joy a furry friend can bring. From laughter to storytelling, the visit truly brightened everyone’s day.

We are pleased to present last month's GEM to Sister Margaret and Staff Nurse Ola in recognition of their exemplary end-of-life care. Through outstanding teamwork, they joined forces to provide truly person-centred care whilst respecting and upholding the resident’s wishes. Their compassionate and sensitive approach ensured dignity, comfort, and support at a difficult time.

Sister Margaret, thank you for stepping up with dedication and to Ola, thank you for the kindness, empathy and genuine compassion you show every day.

🥞✨ Flippin’ Fantastic Pancake Day! ✨🥞
Today our residents celebrated Pancake Day in the tastiest way possible - by flipping their very own pancakes! From perfect tosses to a few giggles along the way.
Toppings were piled high with fresh fruit, syrup, lemon & sugar, and of course a little bit of chocolate! 🍓🍋🍫
It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, sharing stories of Pancake Days gone by, and enjoying such a fun (and slightly messy!) tradition together.

Our lovely residents enjoyed a refreshing walk along the promenade, soaking up the sea air and beautiful views. There is nothing quite like a gentle stroll by the water to lift the spirits, spark conversation, and bring plenty of smiles!

At Lauder Lodge, we do everything we can to encourage and support our resident’s wishes - because it’s often the simple things that mean the most.

Our most recent outing was for Derek, who asked for fish and chips and a pint at his local pub. 🍺🐟

A simple request, a lovely afternoon and most importantly, a very happy Derek, who enjoyed every moment.
