Help Us To Help You
If you have cold or flu-like symptoms when you attend for your appointment, we advise you that we will be unable to see you and you should rebook for another day once you have recovered.

This is:

due to the prolonged duration of close contact during your consultation, and
for the health and well-being of your fellow patients [some of whom may be vulnerable or immune-compromised], and our staff.

Children’s Appointments

If your child has been too unwell to attend school, they are not well enough to attend for a routine consultation.

Emergency Appointments

Should you feel you have an eye health emergency* but are unwell, please contact the practice.

Vision Scotland & AGO - Fundraising:

Go Fund Me page:
https://gofund.me/1b45c219

In September 2023 Anita Glasby Optometry staff are supporting and participating once again as part of the Vision Scotland team, walking and running 44 miles of the West Highland Way to raise funds to treat as many patients as possible.

Vision Scotland, every day provides cataract diagnosis and treatment to private patients from clinic bases in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, the Scottish Borders, and Stirling.

We see how cataract surgery can change someone’s life for the better. By fundraising for cataract surgery, we hope to bring treatment to people who wouldn’t have the means to pay for treatment on their own. Fundraising will cover the costs of theatre and clinical equipment required for cataract surgery. Surgeons and nursing staff will give their time for free of charge.

If you wish to help us raise funds, please donate via the Go Fund Me page:
https://gofund.me/1b45c219

In this way, we hope to make a meaningful difference to even more cataract sufferers throughout Scotland

Thank you for your support.

Sight saving surgery in Scotland

This weekend Anita is participating as Support Crew for the Vision Scotland team. Our Optometrist colleagues will be walking and running 44 miles of the West Highland Way to raise funds to treat as many patients as possible.

We continue to adhere to the latest NHS Scotland and professional body guidance for all Optical practices. As a primary care setting, infection prevention control guidance remains.
There is no longer a legal requirement for patients/visitors to wear a face covering. Instead, it is strongly recommended that patients continue to wear a face covering in a health care setting (unless medically exempt).

Roseburn Works:

In the coming months works for the CCWEL will have consequences for traffic, parking and access to the practice.

Recent works by Fibre Optics has resulted in an uneven pavement, so please take care when walking along Roseburn Terrace.

After these works are complete, CCWEL works will follow resulting in several months of temporary surfaces and diversions to roads, pavements, crossings and parking availability in the local area.

Please contact us if you have any concerns regarding access in advance of your appointment.

Things will change day-by-day. We will endeavour to keep patients informed with the information we have. Further information about the Roseburn aspect of the works is available on Edinburgh Council’s CCWEL website.

With thanks in advance for your understanding.
