Thorough assessment, pain relief, mobility improvement and protecting your long-term health. Nature has provided each of us with a body that has evolved over millions of years to serve us perfectly for our purpose. Unfortunately, that purpose was to hunt and gather, not to slouch on sofas, lean over computer keyboards or drive vehicles for hours on end! We're here to prevent and correct the damage that modern living does to our bodies. So if you're one of those Homo Sapiens that prefers to hunt for a chair and gather aches and pains, we could help you to feel a bit more human!

I had a great couple of days at the Spring Meeting of Osteopathy Europe in Salzburg last week, with colleagues from across Europe coming together to collaborate across our shared challenges and opportunities in Healthcare.
The focus this year was on AI in healthcare, with an excellent keynote presentation from data scientist Christian Møller, who set the tone in a thoughtful, responsible presentation in the use of AI in both clinical practice and organisational settings in healthcare. Across the first day, we explored how AI can support clinicians with admin tasks such as finance and note taking — improving workflows, supporting decision-making, saving time, and keeping clinicians free to be in clinic.
We had some thought provoking discussions during the follow up workshop session using the six thinking hats model, to increase our lateral thinking on this topic.

It's the start of the lunar year and in the Chinese zodiac it's a Fire Horse year. According to astrologers, this means it’s a year for new beginnings, embracing change, and reaching out to others. This could be challenging or exciting! The last Fire Horse year was in 1966, when Glasgow Airport opened, the Old Man of Hoy was first climbed and the Bay City Rollers formed!

As osteopaths, we are required to keep up to date with emergency first aid. Mary attended a course at the weekend, learning about changes in regulations and updating her skills. Unusually, the trainers also talked about how to cope with the stress of offering first aid in real life - when you're outdoors, loved ones of the casualty are screaming at you in terror, bystanders are filming you on their phones and you don't know exactly where you are!

The playground for small children in George V Park across the road is closed for resurfacing. Looks like they are about to do the other playground too. Not that it's especially appealing on a dreich day!

Our Story

Want to feel a bit more human?

Nature has provided each of us with a skeleton that has evolved over millions of years to serve us perfectly for our purpose. Unfortunately, that purpose was to be active to hunt and gather, not to slouch on sofa's, lean over computer keyboards or drive vehicles for hours on end. That's why there are Osteopath's, like us. We're here to prevent and correct the damage that modern living does to our bodies. So if you're someone who prefers to hunt for a chair and gathers aches and pains, we could help you to feel a bit more human.
