Part 4 - Continuing with the series on physical healing.

This video talks about the nuances around diagnosis and becoming attached to our health story.

I’m not suggesting we shouldn’t get the tests done or that it’s not helpful to understand the nature of our health condition, what I’m saying here is that the way we relate to it, the way we talk about it and the way we approach what is happening day to day are all crucial in our ability to heal and recover.

One thing I’m sure most, if not all people would agree on, is that for the body to heal, we need to create the right conditions!

This includes lifestyle, diet and nutrition, stress management, time in nature, hydration, protocols and perhaps most important of all the mental and emotional aspects.

The signals we send into the body from the thinking mind can either keep us stuck or promote healing.

This is why increasing awareness through mindfulness practice can help us to understand the way we think and then give us tools to adapt our thinking to support the body on its journey.

Whenever we hear a healing story, the one thing that is consistent across the board is the absolute belief that healing will happen.

Quantum healing is where we go into a visualisation of the body healed and looking strong and vibrant and we create the emotions of feeling healed, healthy and happy and let those feelings simmer in the body.

This is a way of communicating with the energy field that creates reality and we can repeat this process daily for 21-30 days.

When we change our narrative from “I’m tired of this”, “why is this happening to me”, “my body is failing me” and replace with words like……

“thank you for the healing” and “my body is in perfect harmony, every cell vibrates with radiant health, strength and vitality”, we are orienting the mind to the future reality that we are beckoning in.

This isn’t automatically easy to do, as it may not be the truth of what we feel but we need to trust the body, let it feel that we trust it and keep coming back to the belief that we are already healed and the body will catch up.

If we are cynical about these methods, naturally they won’t work.

We’ll be distilling the wisdom of healing into a blueprint and will be sharing this as a handout at our upcoming retreat in the Isle of Skye in January and at our other retreats we’ll be announcing soon.

Part 3 - An important part of the physical healing journey is diet and nutrition.

In the video I highlight some of the common culprits that can create inflammatory responses, fungal overgrowth and dysfunction in the body.

For many people these are essentially food intolerances that the body is communicating to us it no longer wants, so removing them can support our physical recovery.

Elimination of the antagonists and replacing with healing, nutrient dense or anti-inflammatory foods can aid in the cleansing and rebuild of the body and repair of the gut microbiome.

When the gut, digestive and intestinal tract are compromised, including with heavy metals, parasites or fungus / candida, it can lead to malabsorption of minerals, leaving the body starved of vital ingredients for health.

Many physical health maladies start in the gut due to imbalances, pathogens and toxic overload (dysbiosis), which can over time, over burden the detox pathways (liver, kidneys, lung, skin, colon, lymph).

Common symptoms:

➡️bloating
➡️gas
➡️pain / discomfort
➡️nausea
➡️changes in bowel movement
➡️energy fluctuation

Lack of hydration, movement and flow in the body can lead to a sluggish, backed-up lymphatic system, another factor in the development of physical health issues, highlighting the need to keep the body moving, even in a gentle way.

Routines to get the Lymphatic system moving are now commonly shared on social media and we often include some of these in our retreats as part of sharing holistic mind-body health protocols.

Getting the best quality foods we can, organic ideally and high quality meats straight from farm to plate can reduce and minimise the build up of toxins or antagonists from chemical agriculture, glyphosate, animal feed etc that can keep the body in an inflammatory over burdened state.

I understand that for some, this just isn’t financially possible and that’s something we must change in our society to ensure we can return to regenerative agriculture and toxin free soil to grow nutrient dense foods again at sensible prices for all.

There are many diets out there that we could try with individual testimonies of success and less positive results for each one.

Intermittent fasting is also recommended as a good practice for the health of the body but it may not be the best approach initially for those with chronic fatigue or health conditions where lowering stress / cortisol and repairing the nervous system is fundamentally important to support recovery. Fasting is a stressor on the body.

Drinking a good quality, filtered, structured water 💦 with electrolytes is now highly recommended to help the body fully hydrate at a cellular level.

Tap water and bottled drinking water can be contaminated with heavy metals, BPA, Phthalates, microplastics, be ‘dead’ in terms of molecular structure and lacking in electrolytes which can flush minerals out of the body and not hydrate properly at the cellular level.

Ultimately my experience has taught me not to get too obsessed with all of this, it can get overwhelming but to introduce what feels accessible and affordable bit by bit.

Pick a diet and stick to it for a period of time, whilst tuning into the body to get the signal of what it likes and processes well versus what it doesn’t, then adjust accordingly.

Short term results can appear in the first month but for long term results, 4-6 months and beyond is more realistic.

The thing we cannot underestimate is the thoughts and emotions we have day to day and those related to what we eat, so try to regulate any stress before meals and get into a positive emotional state and the body will digest the food better.

Part 2 - The physical healing journey requires a change in our outlook, our beliefs, our movement and the patterns and habits that led to the physical health event.

If we believe the body can fully recover, that’s a great start but we must believe it with absolute conviction!

For nervous system related issues, slow, gentle, flowing movements are essential. Aligning breath with movement using practices like mindful movement (Qi Gong, Tai Chi, Yoga, gentle stretching - long holds with reassuring words of safety to the body)

Movement or exercise that activates the stress response and the adrenal glands can be detrimental and prolong the healing process. Tolerance for exercise must be built up slowly and gradually, taking note of how the body responds to different levels of output.

Creating the new programme is done in the mind, by learning about the way we think, whilst also increasing awareness and connection with the physical body. This is a combination of mindfulness and SOMATIC practice.

Once we understand our habits and tendencies, this creates the opportunity to make a different choice and a new way of thinking and responding!

When we repeat this new way of thinking and responding, this changes the way we feel, creating the new conditions for the body to heal.

Are you aware of your belief’s and in particular belief’s about self?

Here’s the thing, for most people the answer will be no or not sure and that’s a perfectly reasonable response.

Why?

Because our beliefs develop during childhood and we accumulate more and more as we get older.

The majority of these beliefs are below our conscious awareness but still shaping our life for good or for bad day after day.

Fear based, limiting beliefs have an imprint in our nervous system and can be the trigger for worries and anxieties and the stimulus that creates distorted and fearful thoughts.

This is why many people cannot feel safe or at ease because there’s a programme running in the background keeping the nervous system wound up.

“I need to keep achieving to feel worthy of acceptance”

“I don’t trust myself”

“What if it all goes wrong (again)”

“If I fail it will be a crushing experience”

“If I can keep pleasing this person he / she won’t leave / abandon me”

“I can’t cope on my own”

Can you see how these beliefs can keep someone in cycles of fear, stress, tension and overwhelm?

To reconnect with our soul, it can be extremely valuable to understand the subconscious beliefs that are driving behaviour and over stimulating our nervous system, leading to a variety of symptoms.

Once we identify these, we can rewrite them to self empowering beliefs and create the new programme that can settle the nervous system, strengthen intuition and open the door to greater soul connection.

Mainly because we become more at ease and present in our body and less identified with the ego mind.
