Today marks the first day of Baby Loss Awareness Week and we understand that for many of you this might be your first. Perhaps you didn’t even know before now that this week existed. We are sorry you have found yourself in this place and that there is a need for this week.
Even if your grief still feels very new and very raw you can probably already see why this week is so vitally important to those of us within the bereaved community.
No matter where you are at in your grief or how many Baby Loss Awareness Weeks (BLAW) you have been part of, we want to remind you that we are here for you.
We understand this week is not just for bereaved families, we live it each and every day, but it is our chance to raise awareness within our wider communities of the lifelong impact of pregnancy and baby loss.
Similarly to last year, this year’s theme is Together, We Care, and we wish to remind you of the importance of finding time to be kind to ourselves – to show ourselves the same care we would offer another who has found themselves in this community of amazing people.
During this week we will be sharing some parent stories around the theme of “Togetherness”, and we will be holding specials events to which our bereaved parents and families are warmly invited. It can be a difficult week to navigate on your own. Please get in touch if you would like a chat.
As a charity we like to embrace the idea of ‘togetherness’ and endeavour to work collaboratively with NHS health boards, other third sector organisations and support services to ensure each family receives the best, well-rounded care possible. We pride ourselves on the care, compassion and understanding we show both our families and each other through our core values of empathy, connection and love.
Together, we care, and we want to make sure that no family has to face the worst time in their lives alone 🌈
