One way to tackle the winter blues is to stay focussed on your wellbeing by keeping your self active.

The longer you stay on the wrong train, the more expensive it is to get back home.

So true. Good intention to improve your fitness isn’t enough. You need to make the commitment to get out there and do it. If you’re looking to change your fitness focus and mix some cardio with resistance work, come along and try out a circuit class. Lots of support and encouragement to get you back on track.

Amelio Fitness is part of this month’s Midlothian Wellbeing Festival held in Loanhead on Sunday 26th October. Tickets are £20 for 5x 30 minute sessions and are linked below.
Midlothian Wellbeing Festival is an ideal opportunity to explore ways to focus on and improve you. Personally, I enjoy moving my body and this gives me a huge release physically and mentally - but I know that’s not for everyone. However, the evidence suggests the more we keep moving, the weight we keep lifting and the challenges we keep setting ourselves, helps us to age better. So what ever your targets are, I invite you to come along and try out my short circuit class. It might just suit you and get you moving a whole lot better.

At last!
After a lifetime of being a runner I can finally tick off being a ‘marathon’ runner. Setting a challenge has never been my strong point, but sometimes it’s the only way to make it happen. So,it’s done. Completed the amazing Loch Rannoch event and it was every bit as tough as I expected to be. But I’m so glad I did it, pushed myself to that point. Proved to myself I could.
But while I was running it considered how every one of my clients feels when being pushed & training hard - strong, determined, broken, done, elated.
So although my marathon was for me, I know it’s going to make me a better trainer. Work hard, dig deep and reap the results. 💪
Thanks to every person who supported me with encouraging words or training motivation - especially the home gang, who provided every type of support thinkable over the months. 💕

Finding the right exercise to keep you focussed and motivated is one of the first steps in your fitness journey. Being part of a fitness community can also determine your commitment. Our circuits groups are small and perfect for building that fitness community.

Currently there are spaces to welcome in others. Let’s grow our community. Bring along a friend and earn yourself a free session when your friend books in for their first block.

Are you finding it hard to commit to a fitness goal? You know you should, but making it happen, or even saying it out loud is daunting. So here’s a few of my ideas on how to tackle it.

Make it a realistic goal - something to achieve in the short term will keep you motivated.

Identify the changes that are going to help - it won’t happen by itself.

Factor those in to your weekly routine - make the time with planning & prep.

Prioritise those tasks over other options - even if it feels like you’re putting your needs first. Sometimes that’s what it takes.

Share your situation with others - if they care, they’ll encourage you.

Find a support forum - follow pages or join a group.

Remember it’s not always steps forward - a step back is only that, reset & go again.
