Vacancy now open for Weekend Care and Support Workers within Gilmerton and Oxgangs!

Flexibility to work morning or evening shift / either Saturday or Sunday or both days. You will be required to work as part of a team of 4 people who will work together one weekend on and one weekend off.

(there may be scope to pick up extra shifts if you did require)

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within Care or a similar role. We believe what makes a great carer is someone who is responsible, able to multitask, has a kind and caring nature and excellent communication skills.

We will support you with full training and also to achieve a recognised qualification.

We currently have 4 vacancies for Care Workers within the following areas;
Oxgangs, Gilmerton, Leith

We aim to provide as much consistency with the shifts that we offer as we can, so that our clients get a familiar person in to visit them and to ensure our service runs as smoothly as possible. We are able to offer early morning shifts, evening shifts, split or long days and weekend working. We will discuss availability with you during pre-screen stage as each location will have differing requirements.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within Care however, we do realise that what makes a good carer is your kind and caring nature, sense of responsibility, attention to detail, ability to multitask and a passion for making a difference to someone's life. These could all be transferable skills from other experiences that you have had.

You will be assisting our clients to live as fully and as independently as they can. Empowering and supporting them with daily living tasks such as getting washed and dressed, preparing meals, personal care, taking medication and sometimes escorting to activities such as food shopping, chemist or GP appointments.

Our vacancies currently are for full time and part time staff. We will support you through our training process as well as with achieving a recognised qualification.

Particularly this year 2021, in a year of such great adversity, we are absolutely delighted to receive the 'Top 20 Top Rated Home Care Provider 2021' Award from Homecare.co.uk.
Indeed, we are amazed to hear that we are 2nd best in Edinburgh and 6th best in the whole of Scotland!

Despite providing care and support to the community of Edinburgh for over 42 years, this is actually the first time we have entered a process like this. I am particularly delighted for our team of devoted and hardworking homecarers who have worked tirelessly and selflessly throughout the entire pandemic. Those individuals that have really risked everything in times of great uncertainty, wholeheartedly deserve this recognition and gratitude.
