This week at Professional Carers Edinburgh, we had the pleasure of collaborating with the 1st Queensferry Girl Guides💙

When we learned about the girls desire to bring a little joy to the older people in our local community, we were delighted to get involved in their Easter project 🐣

The guides created some beautiful handmade Easter cards and we were proud to deliver them to some of the people we support.

The cards went down a treat and truly brought so many smiles. Thank you for involving us girls!

📣 ANNOUNCEMENT 📣

From this month, we’re making significant new investments in our people, including increases to pay across Professional Carers 💙

We’ve introduced a new tiered pay structure for our frontline teams, live from today, recognising the different demands across our services and environments, ensuring colleagues are rewarded fairly for the vital work they do 🤝

We are proud to ensure that all colleagues continue to earn at least the Real Living Wage (starting at £13.45), with many earning higher, giving colleagues greater financial stability and recognising the value of the work they do every day.

Alongside this, we’re introducing a new annual attendance bonus, paid twice yearly, as well as new Care Friends points awards and access to a wide range of health, wellbeing and lifestyle perks 🌟

Colleagues will continue to have access to funded training and development opportunities, supported through our investment as a levy paying employer, helping them build skills, progress their careers and grow professionally 📚

At Professional Carers, our support not only recognises rising living costs, but also reinforces our commitment to creating a workplace where colleagues feel valued, supported and proud of the difference they make every day.

⏰ Don’t forget — the clocks spring forward this Sunday at 1am ⏰

That means lighter evenings, brighter days, and yes… one less hour in bed 😴➡️🌅

Make sure you set your clocks forward by 1 hour before you go to sleep on Saturday night, so you’re not caught out in the morning (some devices might do this automatically, such as smart phones, so you may not even have to worry).

The good news is, longer days are finally on the way 🙌🌼

Today we are celebrating a very special milestone for one of our lovely service users Rosemary, who turned 80 years young! 🎈

This morning Rosemary’s carers started the celebrations in style by surprising her with some gorgeous flowers and birthday cards - which she was over the moon with!

Later in the day, Rosemary’s family and neighbours organised a surprise birthday party to continue the celebrations which we hear went down a treat!

It means so much to us to be able to share such important milestones with the people that we support.

Our dedicated team of managers and staff offer a high quality home care service, to service users of all ages (18 years+) in their own home. These services are available from 30 minute calls to 24 hour live in support and supplied throughout Edinburgh.

We are registered with the Care Inspectorate and during our last inspection received Gradings of ‘5’ [Very Good] in areas of Quality of Care and Support, and Quality of Staffing.

Throughout the last 3 years our carers' distinctive uniforms have become a familiar sight throughout the Almond area and as a team we have worked hard to build and maintain a reputation for high quality and high standards of care.

We recognise it is important to give people choice and control over the care services they receive; we therefore take into account your personal preferences as far as absolutely possible. Your dignity, privacy and retention of independence will be of paramount importance to us in the delivery of your care and support.
