It's all too easy to worry about the minutia of training with the detriment of the over all plan.
Remember consistency beats complexity every time!

explaining why he loves the Trap bar• What ▪️Why ▪️How▪️
What: Trap bar deadlift
Why: Though the trap bar variation has slightly less posterior chain recruitment than the Olympic bar – back extensors & hamstrings – we find it a much better option on the risk/reward continuum.
The trap bar deadlift is a great way to build strength in a safe way. Compared with other more complexed lifts, this move requires minimal technical coaching. You’ll also have less shear forces going through the lumbar spine than the conventional bar, which will reduce risk factors and injuries associated with improper lifting mechanics.
How:
1️⃣ Feet shoulder-width apart
2️⃣ Grip the bar centrally on the handles
3️⃣ Sightly bend your knees
4️⃣ Hinge over from your hips
5️⃣ Your spine should remain in a neutral position throughout, keep your chin tucked in
6️⃣ Tighten your grip, pinch your arm pits & tighten through your lats. Brace through the trunk
7️⃣ Accelerate into the floor and lift the load up to the top
8️⃣ Drive your hips forwards to finish the concentric part of the rep, without extending through the lower back
9️⃣ When descending, break from your hips
🔟 Come back down to the floor, pause, re-set and repeat

Thought...
is a term that we are all very familiar with. How many times have you been told that you have 'bad posture'. Well just to make you think, what do you picture as 'good posture'?
Some studies have shown that there is not link between 'bad posture' and pain.
The body is efficient and it adapts to the activities that we most often impose on it so that we become more efficient in these activities
For me, posture is the position from which movement starts and finishes and as such, I am a big fan of Vern Gambetta's term of 'Optimal dynamic alignment'
Although 'posture' is useful to be mindful of, it is more beneficial to focus on good quality mobility and movement no matter if you look like a hunchback or a ballerina when standing still! ∙

We made it! Henry and I argued most of the way but there were loads of good times too!
The challenge has to be one of the hardest that I have done as I was in quite a bit of pain for the majority of it. Luckily I was able to discern pain from injury and could push on through it with a little help of some meds!
All of the team made it to the very end with the incredible support of . A big thanks to all of them but especially who helped me through some of the darker ‘box’ moments
It’s been quiet an emotional experience for me. Henry and I set out to honour Chris and hopefully we have done him proud.
Thanks to your incredible support the team are on track to raise close to £200,000 for and I can’t express how grateful all of the team are for the generosity that has been seen from such a huge number of people
I’d like to give special thanks to , and .co for the support that they gave me and the team
Henry and I might have some time apart over the next few weeks but we’ve made some memories together that I won’t forget

So we have reached the half way mark! I’ve got to say that the last 6 days have been the most gruelling I’ve ever experienced. Just being in the saddle for such a massive amount of time is a challenge enough but because I’m riding a bike that isn’t fitted for me, I’ve got tendon issues going on in my Achilles and both knees are causing me quite a bit of pain. Pushing through it though and thanks to everyone we have almost broken the £130,000 mark!
You can still sponsor me via my website www.dougtannahill.com
Thanks everyone for the support I’ve been getting! It’s helping me get this challenge done 🚴‍♂️
