Georgie McCulloch Reflexology

Georgie McCulloch Reflexology Experienced reflexologist specialising in fertility, pregnancy, postnatal & male fertility assessment So please like or become a friend!

The main aim of this FB page is to share information relating to pregnancy, fertility and reflexology or complementary health generally. Posts will also be shared about activities going on in Edinburgh and Scotland which are related to pregnancy or fertility, and last minute appointments which become available will be advertised. Reflexology is based on the theory that all the organs, glands and systems in the body are connected to reflex points on the feet. A reflexology session with me is a blissfully relaxing treatment which can clear blocked energy which may be causing pain or congestion in that part of the body. I do a lot of work with couples trying to conceive, from helping to regulate menstrual cycles to providing supportive treatments while clients are undergoing IVF or other assisted conception. I also treat people during pregnancy, including the first trimester and up to and beyond birth. Please do contact me if you would like help during pregnancy or with fertility problems.

Hey people,

I’m delighted to announce a new service we’re offering which is Facial Reflexology with my lovely colleague Kristi Sloan. It’s based on the same principles as foot reflexology, but focusing on reflex points on the face.

The face provides a beautifully precise map of the body, with the reflex points corresponding to all the organs and systems. Because of its close connection to the brain and central nervous system, working on facial reflex points can have an immediate and deeply soothing effect, clearing the mind and lifting the mood.

Facial Reflexology also releases tension held in the muscles of the face, head and neck, helping to relieve issues such as headaches, migraines, sinus congestion, TMJ discomfort and jaw clenching or grinding. It can also improve circulation and lymphatic drainage, leaving your skin looking brighter, fresher and naturally glowing.

Kristi starts using a gentle organic facial cleanser and warm towels to cleanse your face. She then applies an organic, nourishing facial oil for the massage and facial reflexology techniques. You remain fully clothed and comfortably reclined throughout the session.

You can have Facial Reflexology as a standalone one-hour treatment, or combine it with Foot Reflexology for a 90-minute treatment for deeper balance and relaxation. It can also be tailored to Fertility Reflexology, Menopause Reflexology, or Postnatal Reflexology. Kristi can also work with pregnant women but only up to 20 weeks due to being in a reclined position.

Available on Thursdays. You can book online via the website - link in bio. Here’s a photo of me after my blissful facial reflexology session! Hope to see you soon ✨

Last weekend I made a batch of this amazing Fire Cider, vaguely following a recipe from Janice I’ll post a link to it in my stories. I recommend following her for ideas on all sorts of potion-making, fermentation and foraging.
- Finished jars
- Ingredients including a huge horseradish from a Polish supermarket on Leith Walk
- Herbs from my garden
- The recipe (you can see the whole thing in her post)
- The end result
- Jars in a dark cupboard (with abandoned Hamma beads) for a month
- Reminder to myself otherwise I’ll find them there in about 3 years!
Looking forward to trying it and keeping colds at bay this winter🤞You’ll probably want to stay away from me as I imagine it’s quite stinky with all that raw garlic and onion! Which is probably why you don’t pick up lurgy - just avoid people! Heaven 🤣

We're delighted to support the Pregnancy and Parents Centre which has been at risk of closure due to cuts in funding. They've been going for 40 years, providing amazing classes, workshops and support for families in Edinburgh & Lothian during pregnancy and early parenthood. There are 9 days left of their crowdfunder, so if you have benefited from support from the PPC, or would simply like to help them reach their fundraising target, please follow this link - https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/save-the-ppc

Watch the video too, I found it very moving - https://vimeo.com/1100040313?fl=pl&fe=sh

And did you know that my lovely colleagues work at the PPC too? Reflexologist Holly Gibb facilitates the Preparation for Breastfeeding Workshops and the weekly Breastfeeding Support Group, and Massage Therapist Elena Kerr offers weekly Yoga for Pregnancy classes. So much knowledge and experience between them!

A huge thank you to all at Georgie McCulloch Reflexology for the generous support of the PPC!

Did you know that September is the month with the highest birth rate in the UK? More babies are born in September than in any other month, 9 months after the Christmas season! 🥂😍

As our appointments get booked up in advance, this is my reminder to get your pregnancy reflexology treatments booked in early or there won’t be any left! It’s our busiest month when I get lots of enquiries from heavily pregnant or overdue women who are keen to avoid being induced and have heard that pregnancy reflexology might help. So is that true?

Of course, there’s no guarantee, but there are certain reflexes and acupressure points I concentrate on which can help to prime the body for birthing. At this stage, it’s also about providing deep relaxation, helping the mum-to-be to switch off completely and connect with her baby. I will also explore whether there is anything else which might be holding them back. I help them to let go of that control and surrender to the baby’s schedule and birth process.

In September, we will be donating 10% from all our sales of pregnancy and postnatal reflexology and massage treatments to the Pregnancy and Parents Centre fundraiser. The PPC is a brilliant local charity, supporting families in Edinburgh & Lothian through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood for the last 40 years. It is currently at risk of closure due to increased costs and decreased funding, which would be a tragedy. If you have benefited from one of their groups, classes, workshops, or nearly new sales, please consider donating to help them reach their target. Link in their bio to donate. Or book in with us and we’ll donate. Thank you!

Due to our specialist training, we can work with women throughout pregnancy, including the first trimester. Reflexology can help to ease pain or discomfort in your back, hips and pelvis. It also works on systemic issues eg digestive system (constipation, bloating, heartburn) or the endocrine system – helping to balance your hormones which can do all sorts of crazy things during pregnancy! Studies have shown that maternity reflexology can increase your chances of having a faster labour with less pain. It’s also very good for emotional wellbeing as it can help to ease any stress or anxiety you may be feeling during pregnancy. It’s wonderful to be forced to slow down and rest for the best part of an hour, and have time dedicated to you and your needs. You can read more here - https://www.fertilityandpregnancyedinburgh.com/reflexology2.html

With pregnancy reflexology, we suggest having a treatment once a month as maintenance and to help with any particular pregnancy niggles. From 38 weeks onwards, we suggest weekly treatments to prepare your body for birthing and to help you to relax, reducing stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol which can actually inhibit the production of oxytocin needed for birth.

If you are due in the next couple of months, please get in touch sooner rather than later as our appointments do get booked up. You can see me, or my lovely colleagues Holly Gibb or Kristi Sloan, who are also experienced reflexologists and have both done the same maternity reflexology training as me.

Blissful pregnancy and postnatal massage sessions are also available with my colleague Elena. Clients love them!

We can do gift vouchers:
- for a pregnant friend or family member
- as a gift for a baby shower
- as a maternity leave gift for a pregnant colleague

Here’s the booking link – https://www.fertilityandpregnancyedinburgh.com/booking.html Treatments are available during daytimes, evenings or weekends.
Hope to see you soon…

Bit of a lack of sunshine and warmth in Edinburgh today, but always possibility! And plenty of strawberries in the shops (or garden if you have green fingers) at the height of Scottish berry season. The best in the world in my opinion. Do you agree?

I can’t quite believe we’re half way through 2025 already. And school summer holidays have started in Scotland, although I’m past that now. Quite a relief - I actually used to have a spreadsheet 🤓 to manage my work days and childcare, summer holiday clubs, swaps with other mums, etc! Solidarity to other parents over the holidays, especially fellow single mamas.

If you need a quiet escape at any point, please come for a treatment at our peaceful haven in the centre of Edinburgh. We can offer:

- general reflexology treatments
- fertility reflexology
- pregnancy reflexology
- postnatal reflexology
- reflexology for menopause

- general therapeutic massage
- abdominal massage for fertility
- pregnancy massage
- postnatal massage

- male fertility assessment (semen analysis)

Happy summer 😎 have a wonderful time whatever you’re up to!

🚨Men’s Health Week, 9th - 15th June 2025

❓Did you know we now offer a Male Fertility Assessment?

We’re known for specialising in women’s health, but we’re also passionate about men’s health, male fertility health in particular. Almost 100% of our new fertility enquiries come from women. However, 50% of a potential new baby comes from the man. In our experience, women take more responsibility for the fact they are having difficulty conceiving, so they are the ones who start investigating what can be done to improve their chances, including things like fertility reflexology and abdominal massage.

We’re aiming to change that and get men checked out much earlier in the TTC journey. Currently, in NHS Lothian, fertility tests are only started when you have been trying to conceive for at least a year, supposedly less if you’re over 35. Then men have to arrange, via their GP, a semen analysis at the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, where there is a further 3 month waiting list. So that can be a long, lonely 15+ months of disappointment, and sometimes couples then discover that the issue lies with the male partner, and could have been addressed much sooner.

So, if you’re trying to conceive, please get your man checked out early on. We provide a detailed semen analysis, oxidative stress test (not available on the NHS) and fertility consultation. The results are ready in under 45 minutes and we help you to understand them fully. If the results are sub-standard, there’s lots that can be done to improve them. We can advise on lifestyle, diet and supplements which may help, and if further investigation is needed, we’ll signpost you to the right people.

You could buy a 3 pack of lacy thongs like the bloke in front of me at the Tesco checkout last night. Alternatively, it’s not too late to buy a gift voucher for a reflexology session for your loved one (be that your partner, bestie, family member, work colleague, parent, child, whoever…). We can do general reflexology (for women or men), fertility, pregnancy, post-natal and menopause treatments. And I can email a voucher to you today or this evening in time for 14th Feb. Valentine’s or Galentine’s sorted. And nicer than a nylon thong which will probably give you thrush…
