I've been a personal trainer for nearly 15 years now and I've been online coaching for 5 years.

It's been a rollercoaster journey with many ups and downs.

I've made some really good decisions and some epically bad ones.

I've busted my ass and given everything to the Viking Coach as I can't imagine my life doing anything else.

I've had many months where I've barely made ends meet and I've had a few months that made me feel like one of those super coaches that pretend to drive expensive cars and move to Dubai.

I also didnt start out with any help and I can be a slow learner.

Yet I'm still here, running my small coaching business 5 years on, helping other warriors find their fire 🔥

Allow me to introduce a client who has become of support and positive energy in the Viking Coach Clan

Erica’s been with us now for 6 months and she’s quickly become well known as a cheeky s**te who’s quick to make everyone laugh and feel motivated.

When she joined, her original goal was to just get stronger,

She told me that she wasn’t so bothered about losing weight as long as she was strong enough to fight off someone if she was ever attacked.

This spoke pretty loud to me so I made sure she knew that my clan is a safe place.

I also wanted to prove that she could lose weight and get stronger at the same time.

Often when someone tells me they don’t care if they lose weight it usually comes from a lack of belief that they can.

Erica has a super power, if you look at it in the right way.

She has PCOS, which does make it difficult to lose weight, but it makes it a lot easier for her to build muscle.

And the more muscle mass you have, the more calories you burn…

Since Erica started she’s -

⚔️ Lost 7kg /15Ibs
⚔️ Dropped 8% Body Fat
⚔️ Lost 15 cm from her waist
⚔️ Add more than 10kg to all her lifts
⚔️ Calling me Big Daddy Rump Steak…. Don’t ask🙄😂

She’s been extremely consistent to her plan even though she’s had a few occasions where her mental health took a hit.

We sat on a call whenever she needed support and made sure her program was manageable alongside what was going on around her and focused on always doing something over nothing.

Now Erica has proven to herself that she can lose weight and get stronger, she set herself a goal of being below 100kg for a special event she has planned in New Orleans next year (If you know you know 😉).

Great effort Erica 🙌

Most of the time I love training

But when it's part of your everyday life, there will be times where you just cannae be arsed.

I always try to show up and start my workout at the very least.

This means I've put all effort into trying and if I'm still not in the mood then I can do something different or go for a wee walk in the woods 🌲

I honestly think my warrior Tobias is one of the busiest MF’s I’ve ever worked with.

Since we started working together he’s:

• Built his own house from scratch in the woods

• Built and Archery Parkour Range and holds regular tournaments

• Ran off to work for Red Bull numerous times

• Learned to drift

• Then decided he was bored and started another business a few weeks ago

All while finishing off his house, maintaining the archery range, excavating his property, forestry work, wrestling bears, and what other madness he gets up to each week!

He just doesn’t stop and I can’t keep up 🤣

As much as I am just blowing smoke up his arse now, this isn’t about saying:

‘Look how busy Tobias is and he still lost weight so what’s your excuse?’

Honestly, he’s not found it easy to stay on track all the time.

We had to change his plan at a moment's notice a couple of times.

There’s been more than a few occasions where his nutrition has been out of his control.

And I’ve been trying to get him to train for more than 2 weeks consistently for a while now

Cutting down trees for 16 hours a day is a workout, apparently…. 🙄

I wanted to highlight that he’s made great progress despite how busy he is and how sometimes he’s not been able to stay on track as much as we'd have liked.

Could he have made more progress if he’d been able to focus and stay on track more?

Sure, but that’s not quite how life works for everyone.

That doesn’t mean you can’t make progress at all, you just need to work with what you can.

When he was home and had a consistent routine, he stuck to his plan.

When he was called away or found himself overloaded with work, we adjusted his plan to allow him to at least maintain his progress until we were able to start properly again.

15kg down, a home gym built and ready to go, and winter coming , we’re ready to focus on building more muscle

My fitness journey actually started when I joined the Army at 16 but I didn't actually pick up weights until i was 19.

I started doing Crossfit 🤦‍♂️ (I know, I know 🤣) to get fitter for martial arts and ended up becoming an ok-ish bodybuilder.

When i started out, I had no idea what to do other than eat and lift weights.

I copied my favourite bodybuilders training routines, I scoured Bodybuilding.com and Tnation for the latest information on training and nutrition.

And of course I've read Arnolds Encylopedia of a Modern Day Bodybuilder 🙄

I also made a s**t ton of mistakes back then.

Like copying diets of bodybuilders that were 10x my size trying to bulk up and ending up just getting fat 🤦‍♂️

And multiple injuries ego lifting because that's what I thought training hard was.

I also thought i was going to be this epic bodybuilder that parted the waves crowds with my gargantuan shoulders 🤣

I did end up competing on stage twice though 🤔

Anyway, take from this what you will.

I was like you. I struggled with a negative mind set and full of self-doubt, not believing I could achieve what I wanted to. I believed that I wasn’t meant to be one of the happy guys that smashed every challenge they faced. I struggled to find the motivation to change, constantly stuck in the endless cycle of wanting to be better and improve myself but never actually doing it. Seems familiar, right? Well I’m here to tell you that the cycle can be broken.

To be a Viking now means to live by your values, to conquer your challenges and obviously to have an awesome beard! I’m here to help push you to build a physique you are proud of. I’m here to help you build your motivation and develop a strong, determined mind set. I’m here to help you become the Viking you want to be!
