I might seem like a grouchy f*ck and sometimes I am 🤣

But I wanted to give a different perspective on the diabetes inducing joy-fest that influencers throw out at the end of the year.

And I really am happy for people who've had an amazing year.

They absolutely deserve it 🙌

But not everyone has and it can be hard not to feel like you're a bit broken if you aren't sharing in the joy.

Some people have had a s**t year, some much worse than others.

And some of us have been left feeling a bit defeated and burned out.

But the only way we are truly defeated is if we carry this year's woes into next.

So look through your struggles and find the positives, no matter how small.

Focus on what you won't do or stand for next year and get excited about what you can achieve.

And if you're still going through some s**t, do like Andy Dufresne in Shawshank Redemption:

Keep crawling through your tunnel of s**t until you come out clean on the other side 💪

We're closing in on Jesus's Birthday and while it'a supposed to be a festive time, it's actually pretty s**tting for a lot of people!

No one wants to talk about the darker side of Christmas becuase you don't want to be a downer but loneliness and low mental health are very real this time of year.

Make sure you check on your pals, especially the stronger ones as you never know what burdens they might be carrying or hiding.

And if you're struggling with loneliness this xmas it's your responsibility to reach out and talk to your friends rather than suffer in silence.

Anyway, merry christmas 😂

It might not look like it but I've been lifting weights for a long time.

Despite my failed dreams of being a mass monster, I stuck it out because even with s**t genetics for building muscle, I could grow and not look like a st*****rs gstring 🤣

I've tried tons of different programs and coaching methods and these are what I feel works best for building muscle as a hard gainer.

Focusing on your strength as a metric for progress over how you look in the mirror as if you're consistently lifting heavier weights or doing more reps then you're building muscle.

When we focus on getting stronger, we need to take each set to failure, so we can't do another rep with the current weight.

If we're training to failure then we only need 2-3 sets per muscle group. 2 for more demanding exercises and 3 for smaller muscle groups.

If you're not feeling a bit sore or fatigued a few days after training then you can probably push harder in the gym.

While you shouldn't aim to cripple yourself, you should at least feel fatigued in the muscles you've trained.

The only way we can build muscle is through progressive overload so make sure to either increase your weights or reps over 1-3 weeks.

I was like you. I struggled with a negative mind set and full of self-doubt, not believing I could achieve what I wanted to. I believed that I wasn’t meant to be one of the happy guys that smashed every challenge they faced. I struggled to find the motivation to change, constantly stuck in the endless cycle of wanting to be better and improve myself but never actually doing it. Seems familiar, right? Well I’m here to tell you that the cycle can be broken.

To be a Viking now means to live by your values, to conquer your challenges and obviously to have an awesome beard! I’m here to help push you to build a physique you are proud of. I’m here to help you build your motivation and develop a strong, determined mind set. I’m here to help you become the Viking you want to be!
