Cameron Optometry has provided expert eye care in Edinburgh for over 50 years. Based in Edinburgh’s New Town, the multi-award winning practice is home to a team of expert optometrists and world-leading technology to ensure you receive unrivalled eye care.
In safe hands
Your eye care will be managed by Scotland’s most highly regarded, highly trained optometrists, all of whom have vast experience in dealing with complex eye conditions. We also have a wealth of experience working with children. Our optometrists have undertaken further qualifications and are even able to prescribe specialised medical contact lenses to newborns. Our optometrists are also able to issue prescriptions if required, so there is no need to visit your GP with eye ailments.

Using the most advanced technology currently available worldwide provides us with the most detailed information about your eyes, which in turn means your optometrist can make accurate and timely diagnoses. These assessments will reveal any problems affecting your sight or your health generally and are especially valuable in the early detection of conditions such as glaucoma, age-related deterioration, cataracts, diabetes, high blood pressure or heart problems.

We are recognised as specialists in providing contact lenses to those with the most complex of prescriptions, including astigmatism, multifocal lenses and lenses for children. And you can rest assure, our lenses are competitively priced as we constantly check our prices against other sources to make sure you get the best value.
Stocking a range of designer glasses
We stock a range of handcrafted frames from independent eyewear designers including Anne et Valentin, Garrett Leight and Lindberg. Selecting a pair of glasses is a big decision and we encourage you to try on as many pairs as you like, taking photos of you in your favourite for you to consider. You will also find a range of stylish sunglasses to try, all of which can have prescription or non-prescription lenses.
