York Road Group Practice We moved to our present purpose built premises on 3 September 1992.

The practice was originally founded in the 1940’s in the Westminster area of Ellesmere Port, progressing to the premises in 102 Whitby Road in the 1960’s and 3a Civic Way in 1970.

📣 Cervical Screening Reminder – Extra Clinics Now Available!

We’re committed to supporting our community’s health and wellbeing, which is why we’re running additional cervical screening clinics over the coming weeks.

Cervical screening is one of the most effective ways to prevent cervical cancer. It checks for high-risk HPV and early cell changes, helping us catch any problems before they develop. Many patients delay their screening without realising how important it is — so if you’re due, now is a perfect time to get it done.

If you are eligible or have received an invitation, please contact the practice to book your appointment. Our team is here to support you, answer any questions, and ensure your visit is comfortable and straightforward.

When we send you a message, it will go to your NHS App (if you’re registered).
If the message isn’t opened within 60 minutes, we’ll automatically send it to you by SMS instead—so you don’t miss anything important.

🗓️ Appointment Reminder Messages
These work a little differently:
• For general appointment reminder messages, the NHS App “fallback” time is 24 hours. If you don’t read the message in that time, you’ll receive it by SMS.
• For reminders sent when your appointment is the next day, the fallback time is 3 hours, ensuring you still receive your reminder in good time.
