Gooood Afternoooon Willllastonnnn , The Farm Team were up bright and early Saturday morning to mark the first large market event held in the village .The initiatives were put forward by the Farm Team at a meeting in the civic hall with local businesses and a representative of Willaston matters but were originally put forward to Richard and Martin directors of the fabulous new village group Your Willaston by Jacko and included other initiatives by the Farm including prooning the tree down on the green ,planters with road signs written on to help Your Willaston promote the village in bloom initiatives I'm the future and better use of the civic hall for our villagers an example of which Your Willaston promoted and organised the Ketona concert there as a full sell out The original ideas were put forward by the Farm whilst Pollards were still open with the focus placed on joining all the dots in the village from Station House cafe through Pollards and running through the old farmers market civic hall to the green where the prooning of the tree will help with future events ,then encompassing the shops in the village and moving on to the Nags Head . The important things for the Farm Team were incorporating our new Youth Team Holly and Sasha along with Charlotte and working with the village florists ,Station House cafe and Classie dog groomers the farm will be announcing new facilities for the village youth and people of all ages at the farm in the New Year .
The event was a huge success and we hope Your Willaston in partnership with other groups will have received the firm support of villagers to hold the market event regularly and a special mention to the Nags Head team Scott ,Susie and Carl for allowing the event to take place and combine the good work of the 40 odd years the existing Farmers Market have supported the village with .The structure and organisation was a credit to Your Willaston ,there were only three arrests on the day and that was mainly for panic buying incidents ! The main takeaway for the farm wasn't just the stimulation of local businesses and the existing farmers market bennifiting from increased footfall but the socialising that it created within the village this really helps people who suffer with social isolation and and I'm sure that the treats,some of them exotic ,purchased on Saturday at the markets and shops are still adorning refrigerators,dining tables and air fryers as we speak but I suspect only just as the products available were truly scrumptious !
The feeling and atmosphere created on Saturday within the Village was incredible
and a real credit to Your Willaston ,how to market a market well I would ask Jen Tony Martin and Richard along with J***y who owns Massys Butchers in Heswall who helped recruit stall holders and supplies the Nags Head .
This message is far longer than the Farm would normally post but we think the event merits it and shows a community and businesses working together and the ex*****on and policing of the event by Your Willaston was perfectly executed,Cometh The Hour Commeth the group.
Well done Your Willaston ,well done Nags Head , well done Civic hall Farmers Markett ,well done local businesses ,well done villagers,well done stall holders and well done Farm Team along with its Youth group .
The farm will be putting forward some more initiatives shortly .
