As we arnt doing our Christmas Toy Appeal this year Pops got a little upset, feeling like she had let the ward at chester down, so she donated 3 Christmas trees and a few bags of Christmas decorations to the new Children's Ward at the Countess of Chester.

Unfortunately this year will be the 1st year that Poppy hasn't done her Christmas Toy Appeal since she was 5yr old. This decision comes after a very difficult emotional year and due to some people completely breaking our trust beyond repair. We would like to thank absolutely everyone who supports Poppy and understands the way she is. She may be a complex person but she truly is one of the most amazing, bravest, most incredible people I have in my life. We really do apologise for the lack of fundraising this year. Hopefully next year 🙏

Pops doesnt like fireworks so we stayed in over bonfire week, so instead we took our annual trip to see the lights in Blackpool tonight ❤️

So when Poppy went to Great Ormond Street few weeks back she forgot her iPad at home. As we were there for 2 weeks her iPad is something that helps her with distraction and calming. So I ordered a temporary one to be delivered there. She has now donated that to the new Children's Ward at the Countess of Chester. The new ward offers so much more of a calming experience that is otherwise a frightening time.

Poppy’s Update ❤️

Today we had a meeting with Great Ormond Street Hospital to talk about what’s going on with our Pops. We’ve learned that her gut motility is very slow — something we’ve known for a while — but there’s no underlying cause for it, which is good news.

Because of the slow motility, her gut can get a build-up of bacteria, which makes everything stop and causes flare-ups. The team is going to try some new medication to help manage this and hopefully reduce the number of painful episodes Poppy has.

The great news is that this isn’t the rare disease they were worried about, and it means no big surgeries are needed. We’re feeling relieved and hopeful as we take this next step in managing things for her. 💛
