We now have a recycling box in branch for old inhalers and diabetic pens. You can either hand your old pens in at the counter (please make sure the needles have been disposed of in your sharps bin) or you can pick up a pre paid box and return them yourself. Hand inhalers in at the front desk to one of the team.

Information post

There has been a Medicines Recall for Ramipril 5mg capsules.

If you currently take Ramipril 5mg capsules, please read the following post and if it affects you please get in touch.

Some cartons of Ramipril 5mg capsules manufactured by crescent pharma limited may contain Amlodipine 5mg tablets.

All packs of Ramipril 5mg capsules with Batch number GR164099 are being recalled as a precautionary measure

If you have received the impacted batch (the batch number you will find on the outer side of the carton beside the expiry date.

If your carton contains blister strips of Amlodipine instead of Ramipril, please make contact with us in the first instance. If your carton contains Ramipril 5mg you do not need to take further action.

If your unsure or have any questions please seek advice from your pharmacy or other Healthcare professionals.

If you have an impacted pack or previously received this batch and you believe you have taken Amlodipine and are experiencing any side effects please seek immediate medical advice.

Both medications are used to treat high blood pressure, however because your body may not be used to a different type of medicine, your blood pressure may become lower than normal and you may experience dizziness as result of taking Amlodipine

Unfortunately I have some sad news about our SISU health machine. We are only going to have it in branch for a few more weeks before it gets uplifted. I know a lot of you guys use it to keep track of your own health journey and are really going to miss it not being there. On a positive note we are still here to give you expert advice on blood pressure, weight management and stopping smoking so please feel free to speak to any of the team if you need help or would like any advice.

We are excited to let you know we now have a prescribing pharmacist Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 9-6 and Thursday 9.30-2.

Enkh-Orchlon Gonchig (Eno) has worked extremely hard over the last couple of years and has completed her advanced clinical training which allows her to assess, treat and prescribe if needed.

The Ailments she can cover

Sore throats
Sore Ears
Sinus infections

Chest infections
Skin conditions

Currently Eno is only treating over 16. We can offer this as a walk in service or you can phone and we can book you in for an appointment at a time that suits you. If you're unsure if we can help just give us a phone or pop in and ask

Big Thank you to Buchan community support team for helping us get some deliveries out today expecially Davie for driving John around to try and get to our most vulnerable patients.

Deliveries at the moment are our biggest issue we are really struggling to keep on top of them and the longer this goes on the more everyone's medication becomes a priority. Please if you can get down for it or have friends and neighbours that can pick up for you it would be a massive help. Also please remember if you cant get out because of your road we will not be able to get in. We have seen some fantastic community spirit over the last few days but also seen a not so good side to people which is disappointing. Our delivery drivers are doing everything they can to get to you so please be patient with them and the team if you are phoning.

Lastly I want to do a massive shout out to my team, who have turned up everyday either on foot or driving in not great conditions to keep us open. They have dealt with stock not arriving, prescription piles that would fear you , sorting out deliveries and phoning patients to check in on them, putting up with a front door that has decided not to work and feels more like a warehouse than a shop. So Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your effort, I know you are all tired mentally and physically and praying for Friday 6pm
