The main areas of tapping are the side of your hand, the top of your head and your eyebrows...

Side of hand - Even though I am holding on to this anxiety, this worry and the negative thoughts, I know I am not alone. I can feel this tension in my stomach and in my chest. I can accept these feelings.

Top of head - Even though I feel anxious, and I struggle to control my feelings, I can accept these feelings and I understand that my body is trying to protect me.

Eyebrow - I am not always going to feel this way, I just feel this way right now. I accept my feelings and will begin to let it go.

You do not need any meditation experience to undergo hypnosis, but some lessons from practicing mindfulness may help. Stay in the moment, allowing your thoughts to pass by without holding onto them. Observe your own mind without making judgments about what you're thinking. The longer you can do this, the easier you will find it to keep a calm and relaxed mind.

You begin by tapping each area between 5 and 7 times and you can do this in any order. You will soon find your preferred sequence.

1. Take in 3 deep breathes by breathing in for 5, holding for 5 and releasing for 5
2. At the same time put one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly to connect with your body
3. If you are feeling anxious than rate how you feel from 1-10 (ten being the most extreme)
4. Use the template below to read aloud the affirmations
5. You can change the affirmations and positive script to suit you
6. After you have finished, take in 3 more deep breathes as described in the first step.

This technique can help with relaxation, calming the mind and stopping negative thoughts by releasing blocked negative energy in the body. It is thought that tapping certain parts of the body calms the nervous system, interrupting the fight of flight response within us. Saying positive affirmations as we do this stimulates our energy and subconscious mind. The combination of both techniques calms us, makes us feel more relaxed and in control.
