What a lovely weekend we’ve had! We kicked things off with a cosy Knit and Natter, followed by the activity trolley making its way around with puzzles, magazines, word searches, and more to enjoy.

We then got creative with some crafts for our tea room display, and rounded everything off with a cheerful singalong, complete with instruments and plenty of smiles.

What a fantastic week we’ve had at The Orchards! We began by travelling to Wales in our very own armchairs, complete with a sing‑along to Shirley Bassey and Tom Jones. We tested our knowledge with a Welsh-themed quiz and enjoyed a short documentary about the top ten places to visit, which sparked lots of lovely conversations from residents who have visited Wales themselves. We also had great fun with Welsh bingo in honour of St David’s Day.

Our fantastic art group with Peggy was, as always, a highlight—huge thanks to Peggy for coming each week and making the sessions so special. We enjoyed a competitive game of Scrabble, followed by a wonderful afternoon of singing with Kirsty, which everyone absolutely loved.

We celebrated some special birthdays this week too, and the wonderful June joined us to sing Happy Birthday—such a sweet and touching moment that everyone enjoyed.

There was plenty of laughter during our ball games and singalong, and we rounded things off with a quiz all about spring flowers. This weekend, we’re looking forward to some Knit and Natter with Sarah, one of our wonderful Activity Assistants, and a performance from Bollywood dancers from Cambridge University as part of the Holi celebrations on March 4th.😁🌷🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Join us for our Easter Party on Sunday, 22nd March!

We’re excited to welcome the wonderful Lissie, who will be performing some of our favourite tunes throughout the afternoon.

Enjoy refreshments, Easter treats, and a fun-filled scavenger hunt for all ages.

Our Easter raffle is now open, with tickets available at reception for £1 per strip. Prizes include fantastic Easter hampers displayed in reception — including a children’s hamper — and a beautiful Easter wreath.
The raffle draw will take place after Lissie’s performance on the 22nd.

Come along, celebrate with us, and enjoy a lovely day together.
