🌱 We brought a little cheer into the our day by making Easter bonnets together, singing with our rhythm sticks and enjoying each other’s company.🐣🌷

💐 💛🌱A random act of kindness 💐💛🌱

🌱Today, we celebrated the spring equinox, and the returning of the light, with a sensory retelling of ‘Wow said the owl’. 🦉 🌈 Exploring different colours, textures and sounds… I particularly enjoyed how we made a rainbow together by shaking our rain-sticks and holding up the yellow fabric for the sun. We also sang with our rhythm sticks to welcome in spring and the colours it’ll bring.

🌱 The little ones enjoyed finding natural treasures and going on a ladybird hunt. We counted so many! 🐞🐞🐞🐞🐞

🌱 We also noticed and felt the smooth, new leaves of the hawthorn and the soft, furry leaves of the apple tree. 🌳 🍎 🍃

🌱 The sun came out to join us in the woods today as we painted with our fingers, moss and leaves. There might even be some Mother’s Day cards winging their way to you.

🌱 These two little ones know their own minds and clearly communicate what they do and don’t want to do.

🌱 It felt good to be back in the woods today and to share time together. Love to those who could not be with us.

🌱 We noticed ladybirds, deer prints, birdsong, mushrooms 🍄‍🟫…

🌱 We made bees 🐝 to hang in the fairy kingdom in honour of our beautiful friend, Bailey Bee.

🌱 A little one asked to decorate stones - please let me know if there’s something you or your little one are interested in doing in future sessions. 💚🌿🐸

🐞 🐞🐞Look at the loveliness of ladybirds! I noticed them in our wild patch, whilst doing a site check this morning. I think they were making the most of the sunshine.

We’ll be thinking about all the creatures who’ll be waking up from hibernation soon during our session on Friday. Ladybirds included. Can you have a think about the other animals and minibeasts in this country who also hibernate?

🌱 Forest Froggies will be back from Friday the 27th of February to the 27th of March. The sessions run from 1.30-2.30pm and are £5 per child. £10 for families with two or more children.

🌱❤️ I had another go at making a Brigid’s cross today. This time using dogwood. You can see the pattern of the weave more easily, but the sticks felt ‘jumpier’ than the willow and kept trying to spring back when I was tying them off at the ends so I used elastic bands to secure. 🌱❤️

🌱💚💛 I had a little play this afternoon making my first Brigid’s cross. It seemed apt using willow, if a bit tricky because of the buds. Love a bit of simple weaving to soothe the soul. Imbolc is almost here and spring will follow there after. 🌱💚💛
