A protection ward is an intentional energetic safeguard created to shield a person, space, or object from negative influences, harmful intentions, or unwanted spiritual energies. In many witchcraft and folk-magic traditions, wards are built by combining physical symbols such as herbs, crystals, sigils, or charms with focused intention, visualization, and sometimes ritual. They work less like a physical barrier and more like a boundary of energy, acting to repel, absorb, or transform disruptive forces while maintaining a sense of safety, stability, and spiritual protection. Wards can be temporary or long-lasting and are often refreshed periodically to keep their protective strength active.

The New Moon in Pisces carries a deeply mystical, liminal energy perfect for witchy workings tied to intuition, dreams, healing, and spiritual renewal. Its correspondences lean toward water elements, sea soaked symbolism, and soft, receptive power: think ocean water, moon water, shells, pearls, and mirrors. Colours include sea green, lavender, indigo, silver, and misty blue, while herbs and scents such as mugwort, jasmine, lotus, and chamomile enhance psychic openness. Crystals like amethyst, aquamarine, moonstone, and labradorite resonate strongly with this moon, supporting divination, emotional release, and connection to the unseen realms. Ideal intentions focus on surrender, forgiveness, creativity, shadow healing, spirit communication, and setting dream based manifestations rather than rigid goals this is a moon for feeling, flowing, and trusting the currents of the unseen.

The year of the horse 🐎

The Year of the Horse is associated with strong, fiery, fast moving energy that represents freedom, independence, passion, and personal power. It is commonly linked to the element of fire, making it ideal for magic focused on motivation, confidence, success, travel, and breaking through stagnation. Horse energy is seen as wild, spirited, and action-oriented, encouraging bold decisions, forward momentum, and trusting instinct rather than hesitation. In spiritual symbolism, it can also represent the soul’s journey, vitality, and the drive to pursue one’s true path without restraint.

Lupercalia was an ancient Roman festival held each year on February 15 in Rome, celebrating fertility, purification, and protection. The festival was linked to the Lupercal cave, where according to myth the she wolf cared for Romulus and Remus, the legendary founders of Rome. During the celebrations, priests called the Luperci performed animal sacrifices and ran through the streets with strips of goat hide, lightly touching people as a ritual believed to bring fertility, health, and safe childbirth. Although sometimes associated with the origins of Valentine’s Day traditions, Lupercalia was primarily focused on renewal, seasonal cleansing, and the promotion of life rather than romantic love.
