Interesting watch!
Have you or your clients had pain and movement problems that have persisted for 6 months or more?!
We know from medical and pain researchers that tissue damage from an injury will heal itself in days or weeks.
Depending on the actual tissue that was damaged (e.g. muscle, tendon, ligament, bone, etc), by the 6-month mark, it will be healed.
So what about pain and musculoskeletal problems that are still being felt AFTER 6 months has passed?
I see numerous clients in my clinic that are still experiencing pain and movement problems...often YEARS later!
"But I sprained my ankle 6 years ago!" said a client to me last week. "How can THAT be causing my current ankle and hip problems, Simon?!"
Well...watch the excellent video by Professor Lorimer Moseley, 'Why Things Hurt' - link in comments below :)
(This is a video that I send out to clients BEFORE their first session to watch, so they understand that it's possible their persistent pain may be due to an old injury or trauma)
A saying I use, which I first heard from the founder of NeuroKinetic Therapy, David Weinstock: 'There are no warranties on an injury'.
In other words, just because time has passed, doesn't mean that everything goes back to normal.
We know that neuromuscular dysfunctions can and do cause problems, long after the initial tissue injury or trauma has happened and healed.
Using NeuroKinetic Therapy, we are able to help people who have pain and movement problems due to persisting neurological dysfunction to feel and move normally again.
The nervous system controls everything in the body.
If you'd like to learn how to help your clients/patients to feel and move better by becoming an 'NKT Neurological Detective', I'm excited to be teaching several NeuroKinetic Therapy seminars around the UK and Europe in 2019!
We welcome a wide range of practicing health and fitness professionals to seminars, including physios, osteos, chiros, personal trainers, yoga teachers, pilates instructors, etc.
