About the walk
This walk explores Nonsuch Park, one of Surrey’s most attractive open spaces, rich in history and wildlife.
From Cheam, we head into the park’s wide avenues and open grassland, following paths once laid out for royal hunting grounds. The landscape here feels spacious and calm, with long views, mature trees, and plenty of room to walk side-by-side at an easy pace.
We pass through the formal gardens surrounding Nonsuch Mansion, built on the site of Henry VIII’s famous (and now vanished) palace. The mix of landscaped gardens, woodland edges, and open parkland makes this a varied and relaxing route.
After lunch, those who want a shorter day can leave from Ewell West, while the rest of the group loops back through the park to finish at Cheam. If you haven’t booked lunch DM asap for details as Sunday bookings need to be secured in advance.
