Why work in care? 🤝

💜 Help make a difference everyday 💜

Being a carer means no two days are the same. Every day brings new opportunities, from helping with daily routines to providing companionship and emotional support.

What are some advantages of being a carer?

✨ You can make a difference – you will make life better for the people you care for.

🕰️ Flexible working hours – a variety of different working hours and rotas means you can find shifts that fit in with your schedule.

✅ Gain qualifications – although qualifications are not necessary to work in care, many employers offer the opportunity to earn recognised qualifications that can increase your job prospects.

Congratulations Charlotte!

🌟 We’re incredibly proud to celebrate a fantastic achievement! 🌟

We’re delighted to share that Charlotte Kyriakou is now a fully trained First Responder — an inspiring accomplishment that showcases her compassion, courage, and dedication to helping others.

Charlotte was motivated to complete her First Responder training after two powerful experiences while delivering care in the community. On one occasion, she performed CPR for 20 minutes when emergency services were delayed, and on another, she and a colleague acted quickly to save a gentleman’s life after he collapsed in a café.

Determined to strengthen her life-saving skills, Charlotte dedicated every weekend in June to complete her training and recently passed her final assessment under the supervision of a Paramedic. She is now ready to respond to emergency callouts independently, providing vital support to those in urgent need.

👏 Please join us in congratulating Charlotte on this remarkable achievement — her commitment to care and community truly embodies the values of Prestige Nursing & Care.

November marks Family Caregivers Month, a time to honour and recognise the incredible individuals who provide care for their loved ones everyday.

As a homecare provider we understand the challenges caregivers face and the strength it takes to show up everyday. We invite you all to support caregivers in any way you can this month, whether it’s through words of encouragement or a simple reminder that they are not alone.

If you are a family carer, Prestige Nursing & Care can provide short term care through respite care should you need to take a break. For more information visit https://www.prestige-nursing.co.uk/blogs/emergency-respite-care/

Its Stress Awareness Week! Let’s talk about managing stress together…

When stress builds up it can take a toll on our mind and body – so let’s take a moment to check in with yourself and others this week.

Take this quick self-check…

💤 Am I getting enough rest?
⏳ Have I taken a real break today?
☀️ Am I being kind to myself?

If you are feeling stressed and are not sure where to start to manage it, here are a few tips…

🫖 Swap one cup of coffee for water or herbal tea
📱 Unplug from your phone for 10 minutes and take a walk outside
🤝 Share how you feel with someone you trust

Halloween can be a stressful time for some vulnerable adults who may feel anxious about trick-or-treaters knocking on their doors.

To help, we’ve created a poster that can be displayed outside their homes to let visitors know they are not taking part in Halloween activities.

If you have a vulnerable neighbour, please consider:

• Checking in with them for a friendly chat or company.
• Reminding them about Halloween activities in the area, so they’re not startled by visitors or noise.

Thank you for helping to make Halloween a fun, safe, and inclusive time for everyone! 👻🎃

Another fantastic achievement!

We are thrilled to share that Sophia, Complex Care Nurse, was awarded the Silver Award in Adult Nursing and Social Care for her outstanding contributions to care. Here’s what Sophia had to say about this special moment...

“This recognition is a true honour, and I feel incredibly grateful to be acknowledged in this way. Caring for adults in need is a privilege, and I am proud to be part of a profession where compassion, dignity, and dedication make such a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my colleagues and mentors for their constant support, encouragement, and teamwork. This award is not just mine – it reflects the commitment of everyone who works tirelessly to provide high-quality care. I am inspired daily by the people I work alongside and the individuals and families we support.

Receiving this award motivates me even more to continue learning, growing, and giving my very best in everything I do”.

Sophia won this award as part of the Chief Nurse Awards, which recognises the significant contribution of Nurses, midwives and social workers in England.

Congratulations again on this amazing achievement!
