The Aftermath of the "Golden Dust" ☕️✨

​It turns out "Chief Happiness Officer" Spark has a very literal definition of spreading joy! After Spark’s visit yesterday, the office is glowing, the team is beaming, and there is happy gold dust in every single corner.

​While we’re all riding the high, spare a thought for Henry. 🧹
​Our hardest worker is officially over capacity. He’s traded the suction for a selection (of fine blends) and is refusing to move until he finishes his cuppa. Apparently, cleaning up "pure happiness" is a lot more taxing than your average Friday afternoon office party! 🍾✨

Have you noticed how the music people love most often comes from the same time in their life?

For many of us, it is the songs we listened to in our late teens and early twenties. There is a reason for that. During those years, the brain is especially responsive to emotion and identity, which means those songs become deeply linked to how we felt and who we were becoming.

That is why familiar music can be so powerful, particularly for people living with dementia or other neurological conditions.

For our Care Professionals, something as simple as putting on a favourite song during a visit can open up conversation, lift mood and bring back meaningful memories. It can be a lovely starting point for talking about what that music means to someone and the moments it takes them back to.

A morning made of memories 💛

P and her Live in Care Professional, Jannat, shared such a special start to the day. Sitting comfortably in her own home, Peggy spent the morning reminiscing about a trip she took to New Zealand many years ago, the places she visited, the moments she remembered, and even the songs she loved back then. Before long, she was singing along, smiling, and completely at ease.

These quiet moments of reminiscing are so powerful. They bring joy, comfort, and a sense of identity especially when shared with someone who has the time to truly listen. This is the beauty of one-to-one Live in Care unhurried conversations, genuine connection, and care that’s shaped around the person, not the clock.
