We are deeply grateful to Jackie Taylor from Randall’s Park Crematorium for their generous donation to Princess Alice Hospice of £5,000, raised through the recycling of metals from the crematorium. ❤️

This contribution will make a real difference in supporting our vital work and helping us care for those who need us most. It was a pleasure to give Jackie a tour of the hospice and show her the impact their donation has made. 🌟

How does this work? After cremation, metals such as orthopedic implants and surgical pins are respectfully collected and recycled through specialist programmes. Rather than going to waste, these materials are transformed into funds that support charities and community initiatives, turning something unexpected into something truly meaningful.

This approach not only promotes sustainability but also creates a lasting legacy of care and compassion.

When a loved one is nearing the end of their life, it’s the little things that stay with you. The small gestures that make you feel seen, supported and cared for. 💛

For Clea and her family, one of those moments was something beautifully simple.

“My dad was in your care in April 2022, but the family was never "Kevin’s daughter, Kevin’s wife, Kevin’s son" every single member of staff learnt our names and referred to us by name, that meant so much to us, you treated us like we were part of your family." - Clea

Great to see our CEO, Nigel Seymour, speaking about becoming an anti-racist organisation, while our own Steve Nolan has just delivered a great session on reclaiming spiritual care for an evolving generation. Food for thought, at a time of great significance for the entire hospice sector.
