So lucky to be able to take a morning walk around this morning. I don't mind the temperature being brisk when it's sunny.

There's so much to look at and absorb the senses that it hols my focus absolutely. Mindful walking.

Ooh I love a challenge. If you get to level 3 (and absolutely don't worry if you can't today) then you're aiming for the hips to be horizontal. I'm not *quite* there yet but there's time!

Ah that's better! After the chaos of half term I took some time to do yoga without background bickering and I feel so much more like myself!

I'm sure you'll also feel better after some movement - book in to join us this evening.

A short movement sequence that helps a stiff body, and particular a stiff pregnant body (as well as encouraging optimal foetal positioning )

Day 12 of is

I've had such a busy few days doing diy, sanding and painting the front door. Yoga has been the mindfulness of staying present in the task and lots of squatting. Humans don't squat as much as they used to and it can feel hard for lots of people but if you can do it more often, your hips and glutes will thank you.

Day 10 of was all about soothing a sore back today. For me, a combination of painkillers, gentle movement and some rest usually works. This cat / cow combination can feel lovely on all backs when applied gently, pregnant or not.

BTW these are old pics, I'm not currently pregnant, I thought that for it's good to see a body moving. After moving I always feel better and sleep better. I hope the same's for you too.

Today's is around stretching after cycling. It's so tempting when you're busy (and sweaty) to just rush off, have a shower and get on with your day. But your recovery will go better if you take a few minutes to stretch out some of those key muscles you use as a cyclist: Hamstrings / quads / glutes.

- Seated forward fold. Bend your knees but not your back. Stretches are supposed to feel good not agonising so work within your range of movement. Legs go wider if you're pregnant.

- Quad stretch. Some like to lie flat when they do this but I rest my weight on my other elbow. If you kick your foot into your hand it makes it more intense (optional, obviously). If you're pregnant, do this pose standing so as not to squish your bump.

- Gomukasana - glute stretch. If ouchy on the knee then please straighten the bottom leg (or omit the pose entirely). Knees aren't supposed to hurt.

- Pigeon pose - your front shin goes diagonally across. You can stay higher up with straight arms or progress onto elbows if that works for you. Again, knees aren't supposed to hurt so do this on your back if your knee complains.

Regular stretching helps prevent injuries, particularly as we get older and our bodies are less forgiving! Let me know if you have any questions (or come along to yoga on Tuesdays in if you're free.
