After a very sensible post from Merstow Green Funeral home yesterday regarding the waiting time at the Vale Crematorium being around 5 weeks due to maintenance work at Worcester Crematorium. We will also be offering our limousine free of charge for those families who choose to use another crematorium (Redditch, Cheltenham, Oakley wood) whether it be following the hearse from the home address or meeting at the crematorium. The waiting times at these crematoriums are much shorter.
As much as we like the Vale, the current waiting time is putting pressure on families and also funeral directors. If families are flexible with times/days the waiting time at the Vale can be reduced but that normally means a 9am or 5pm service.
Again, I’d like to thank Merstow for putting this idea forward.
It does impact us directly being a small independent business but I feel it’s what needs to be done at this current time and like many other funeral directors we always put the families wants and needs first.
