Good morning,
What a soggy old start to the day! I have enjoyed listening to the rain on the window this morning and spent a few moments doing this little exercise before launching myself into the days busy-ness.
This little exercise was put together for some online clients a little while ago.
It's a long read but worth it.
Click and save for later or spend a few moments before you start your day.
Find a comfortable and quiet space where you can fully unwind. Turn your phone off.
Take a few deep breaths, inhaling deeply through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. Close your eyes and feel your body start to relax.
As you relax down further, let your mind calm and slow any racing thoughts or worries. Take a moment to recognise your emotions, but remind yourself that this moment is yours to relax and refocus.
Now, let's begin........lift your fingertips up to your temples and gently massage your temples using your fingertips in small circular motions. This area often holds tension and can be tender, so take your time, be gentle, and focus on releasing any tightness you may feel.
Next, move your fingers down to your jawline and apply gentle pressure, working your way from your chin to your ears, and continuing down your neck to your shoulders use gentle kneading motions feel your stress begin ebb away and your body sink a bit deeper into relaxation.
If you have the time, you can massage your arms and hands, gently rubbing your forearms and massaging your palms and fingers. Our hands do so much, and it's amazing how much tension we hold here.
Take a moment to bring your focus back to your breathing. Breathe in deeply, and as you breathe out, visualize yourself releasing any remaining tension, unhelpful thoughts, and energy.
When you feel ready, slowly open your eyes, have a drink of water, and re orientate yourself back into the room.
Remember, it's important to take regular breaks for self-care and regrouping. Whether it's through massages, meditation, or simply taking a walk in nature, prioritizing your well-being will help you regain focus and find some balance.
