Celebrating 15 Years With EDHT! 🎉💐🍾
We’re delighted to celebrate a very special milestone - our Dental Therapist, Katharine, is marking 15 years of dedicated service at EDHT!
Over the years, Katharine has become a much-loved member of our team. She has played a key role in developing our periodontal therapy programmes, carefully tailored to support each patient’s needs. Most recently, she has also been involved in a research partnership with the University of Birmingham, exploring whether assessing patients for type 2 diabetes in a dental setting could support earlier diagnosis - an exciting opportunity for both her and our patients.
Katharine’s dental career began at just 18, qualifying as a Dental Nurse in 2004 at Liverpool Dental Hospital. Motivated by her passion for advancing patient care, she went on to complete dual qualification as a Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist in 2009, joining EDHT the following year.
Her particular interests include caring for nervous patients and children, helping them feel calm, comfortable and confident during treatment. She is especially passionate about supporting patients on their periodontal health journeys - guiding them from early diagnosis through personalised treatment plans and celebrating their progress along the way.
A committed lifelong learner, Katharine became the first student to convert her Diploma into a Degree in Dental Studies with the University of Central Lancashire in 2012. Most recently, she qualified as a Nutritional Therapist in 2025, expanding her understanding of how oral and overall wellbeing are deeply connected.
