π’ What is a βSlippedβ Disc?
Despite the name, a disc in your spine doesnβt actually βslipβ out of place.
Your spinal discs are cushion-like pads between the bones (vertebrae) that absorb shock and help you move.
What really happens:
π The soft inner gel of the disc pushes through a crack in the tougher outer layer
β‘ This can press on nearby nerves, causing pain, numbness, or tingling
Common causes:
π Repetitive bending or twisting
π₯ Heavy lifting with poor technique
π Age-related wear and tear
Symptoms may include:
β
Back or neck pain
β
Shooting pain into arms or legs
β
Numbness, tingling, or weakness
Recovery tips:
π Strengthen core & back muscles
π Good posture and body mechanics
π Avoid prolonged sitting or slouching
π Early assessment = quicker recovery & less chance of long-term issues.
