This Christmas, we wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to the amazing Funeral Directors and bearers who work alongside us every day, supporting families with such care, dignity and professionalism.

As a small token of our appreciation, we’re sharing a little festive cheer with Southern Co-op mince pies for everyone who supports the families here at East Devon Crematorium
It’s our way of saying thank you for all that you do - especially at this time of year.

Last week, we were honoured to hold our annual Christmas Memorial Service here at East Devon Crematorium. It was a truly special and reflective time spent together, remembering and celebrating the lives of our loved ones who are no longer with us.

We were delighted to welcome the wonderful Bel Canto Choir, whose beautiful singing filled the chapel, and we also shared an inspiring and thought-provoking story about St Nicholas and Anne Frank. Together, we lit candles and placed stars on our Memorial Tree in loving memory of those we have lost.

Our Memorial Tree will remain safely in place throughout the holiday season, and you are very welcome to visit. If you wish, you can write a message on one of the stars and place it on the tree in memory of your loved one.

✨ A Message for Our Memorial Holders ✨

At this time of year, many of our memorial holders choose to visit our peaceful grounds and place additional items on their plots. With this in mind, we are happy to welcome extra items, provided they continue to respect the natural ethos of our site.

Please note that any personal belongings will be removed from plots from 5 January 2026. These items will be carefully held and available for collection until 5 February 2026.

If you would like to know more about any of our memorial options, please feel free to contact our admin office - the team would be more than happy to chat with you and offer guidance. 🌿

In honour of Remembrance Month, East Devon Crematorium is proud to have donated £1,000 to Veterans With Dogs this November.
The charity was kindly nominated by one of our local funeral directors, Walter C. Parsons.

About Veterans With Dogs
Veterans With Dogs stands at the forefront of mental health support for current and former members of the British Armed Forces. As pioneers in the UK, they've revolutionised the use of assistance dogs to enhance the quality of life for Veterans living with service-related mental health conditions.

Their mission is simple but powerful - to train fully accredited assistance dogs that provide life-changing support and companionship for Veterans and active-duty service members.
We're honoured to support such an incredible organisation this month of remembrance.

It's Baby Loss Awareness Week and we are proud to come together in remembrance of all babies and to raise awareness of the issues around pregnancy and baby loss 💙🩷

There are lots of ways for you to get involved in the week from wearing a pink and blue pin, sharing social media posts, joining challenges to taking part in a local event or Ribbon Display.

The week will end with the Global on Wednesday 15 October where we ask everyone to light a candle for 1 hour at 7pm in memory of our much-loved babies.

Many bereaved parents find this week helpful as it offers a safe space to talk about and remember our babies. However, the week can also be overwhelming and intense, so we encourage you to take part in a way that is right for you and take a break from social media if you need to. Keep an eye out for Ribbon displays in your local Co-operative Funeralcare branch, Funeral Director or supporting charity locations.

Together we are stronger and we are proud to turn pink and blue.

On Friday 26th September, our team at East Devon Crematorium hosted our annual Macmillan Coffee Morning. We were delighted to welcome funeral directors, arrangers, and friends of the crematorium. Together, we enjoyed homemade cakes, biscuits, and plenty of delicious coffee and tea, along with some lovely chats and laughter.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported this special event - we are thrilled to share that we raised £1,150.00 for Macmillan Cancer Support, which includes a generous donation from East Devon Crematorium.
