We have been made aware via an admin of the ‘Pinhoe Forum’ page that ‘several residents’ have contacted them with concerns about the partial removal of a bramble hedge on the practice boundary to allow safe building works access. We have not received any such concerns from residents or patients directly. The plan had, for some time, been to remove the (unruly, poor-quality) hedging and replace it upon completion (probably with something nicer). We received permission for this partial removal, on the basis of a replacement at the conclusion of the build, although it transpires that it may not have been received from the correct person. All other areas of hedge now have protective barriers around them.
A ‘stop notice' is being investigated by the local planning authority because of, presumably, a complaint. We are working with them to remedy the issue. In the meantime, the building works will be paused, with the inevitable resultant delays.
We will continue to provide updates on our page but would encourage anyone with comments - positive or otherwise - regarding the build to direct these to the practice email pinhoe.surgery@nhs.net, with 'BUILD' in the subject.
We do not regard Facebook as an appropriate forum for discussions regarding planning applications, all of which are accessible via the Exeter planning portal. We have turned off commenting on this post as it is for information only, and our priority is to provide patient care, the reason for the extension in the first place.
**Please be aware, the building site is not accessible to members of the public, due to risk of injury.**
