💙 Dementia affects so much more than memory.
It’s a condition that slowly, and sometimes not so slowly, changes how someone thinks, how they feel and how they live day-to-day. Some of what people may experience includes:
Trouble remembering recent events or conversations; difficulty finding words or understanding.
Changes in judgment, decision making, mood or behaviour — things that were easy before become hard.
Loss of independence in everyday tasks — managing bills, finding their way, or doing things they used to do without thinking.
Emotional and social effects: feeling less confident, facing stigma, withdrawal from friends or from things they enjoy.
✨ That’s why we’re taking part in the Race Against Dementia at Silverstone.
We believe in:
Raising awareness so that more people understand what dementia really means for someone living with it and their family.
Supporting research and care so that little by little we can make life better for everyone touched by dementia.
Uniting our community - friends, carers, families, neighbours - to run, walk, donate, share, and show we care.
🙏 How you can help:
Donate whatever you can; every contribution helps.
Share this post and spread the word. The more people know, the stronger we become.
Cheer on our team of runners at Silverstone - knowing that we’re doing this for someone you know, someone you love, someone you may yet meet.
