πŸ’œ Support that fits you πŸ’œ β€” not the other way around

Staying on top of routines, reminders, and planning can feel overwhelming, especially when pressure or judgement is involved. A Personal Support Assistant (PA) can help in a way that’s calm, flexible, and centred around you.

That might look like gentle reminders, breaking tasks into manageable steps, or planning days and weeks together at a pace that feels comfortable. No rushing. No expectations. Just support that adapts to your needs and energy levels.

For neurodivergent individuals, having someone alongside you can bring structure without stress, clarity without overwhelm, and encouragement without judgement.

Support shouldn’t feel demanding - it should feel safe, respectful, and empowering. πŸ’œ

🧠 Did you know?

Neurodivergent people may experience the world differently - from how they focus, communicate, organise, or process sensory input.

That doesn’t mean they need less independence, it means they need the right support.

ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Anxiety, Sensory differences - support should adapt to the person, not the other way around. A Personal Assistant can help bridge that gap πŸ’œ

Devon Carers do such good work supporting family carers. Do you know someone who is an unpaid family carer but just thinks they are a loving, caring family member?

Do you know someone who looks after others who couldn't cope without them but don't recognise themselves as an unpaid carer?

For example, less male carers access our services than female carers do, which means they might be missing out on our support.

From Carers Assessments to assess how we can help to support you, taking part in Carers Skills Workshops to learn about practical and wellbeing coping mechanisms, filling in our Emergency Plan in case you are unable to care for any reason such as an emergency, to chatting with other unpaid carers in our Peer Support groups, why not contact us to chat about our FREE services?

Call our friendly Helpline on: 03456 434 435
Email: info@devoncarers.org.uk

If you know anyone like this, please share our post and help us to reach even more of Devon's unpaid carers.
