Happy Winter Solstice ✨

Today marks the longest night and the quiet turning of the wheel.
The dark has done its work — holding us, stripping us back, asking us to slow, feel, and listen.

From this moment on, the light begins to return.
Softly. Gradually. Faithfully.

Winter Solstice reminds us that rest is not laziness, darkness is not failure, and pause is not the end. It is the fertile space where intention is planted and truth is revealed.

Light a candle.
Honour what you’ve survived.
Release what no longer needs to walk with you.
And welcome the new light — even if it arrives quietly at first.

You made it through the darkest stretch.
The sun is on its way back. 🌙🔥

I am so proud of each of you for passing your Reiki Level 2 – Practitioner training. This level marks a powerful deepening of your practice — not just in skill, but in awareness, trust, and energetic responsibility.

You’ve learned how to learn and work with the Reiki symbols, cleanse and protect the aura, read auric fields, and offer distant healing across time and space. These are subtle, sacred skills that ask for presence, integrity, and respect for the energy — all of which you embodied beautifully.

Reiki 2 is where intuition sharpens, intention strengthens, and confidence begins to root. You didn’t just learn techniques — you integrated them.

It has been an honour to guide you through this initiation and to pass on this lineage. Carry your practice with humility, integrity, and heart.

TOPIC TUESDAY: The importance of Supporting a Small Business 👩‍💼

I don’t think people realise how much goes on behind the scenes of a small business… especially when you’re a mum, self-funded, and doing it all with no safety net.

I started my business in my front room, and in that first year I barely took any money home. I was working full-time at the hospital, and every penny I earned went straight back into growing The Edgy Therapist.

Then I moved to Woodbury, paying £500–£600 a month in rent. I cut down my hospital hours to build my client base… but that meant the shifts I did work were the only income I had to cover my home bills. I still couldn’t take a salary from my business — everything went into rent and building the next stage of this dream.

Now I have a whole premises to run. Which is incredible — but it also means I’m responsible for business rent, bills, stock, fees, upkeep, my home bills, and childcare costs until April when we finally receive the 15 free hours.

It’s a lot. Especially coming back from maternity leave, losing maternity pay, and only being able to work part-time.

December and January are two of the quietest, most difficult months for small businesses — slow bookings, high costs, and many of us wondering how we’ll make it through.
That’s why so many of us rely on people buying gift vouchers at Christmas. They genuinely help keep us afloat during the quiet season.

So today’s TOPIC TUESDAY is simple:

What small business have you supported this year for Christmas? 🎄

Because when you shop small, you’re not supporting a corporation —
you’re supporting a family, a dream, a woman doing her absolute best, and someone who has sacrificed their own salary for years to keep their doors open.
