A warm welcome to the Good Life Therapy Centre and counselling with me, Kate, and my private practice 🌊

🫥 The hardest part is often the initial contact with your chosen therapist. I always aim to reply the same day that I get a message and sometimes almost immediately if I’m not with a client! I understand that you don’t want to be waiting around for a reply once you’ve taken that first step.

💻 Then we would have an email conversation about what’s bringing you to counselling, if I’m the right person for you, and in-person and online availability. Some people like to have a phone call and some want to book in straight away… the choice is yours.

📅 Then comes the day of your appointment. You may have been dreading it, maybe you were looking forward to it - but there’s not many people that don’t have those butterflies and anticipation when they approach that first session.

☕️ Come in and help yourself to drinks and snacks, and I’ll be out at your appointment time with a warm welcome to take you down to our room.

🌟 Don’t worry if you don’t know where to start, I can help with that. Just tell me a bit about yourself and we’ll go from there.

🌊 From a therapist who understands how hard it can be to reach out and take that first step

We honestly couldn’t have done it without you - the clients, practitioners, family, friends, and other small businesses. This year has been more than we could have imagined. Serving hundreds of clients, fostering relationships with other practitioners and small businesses, we’re truly living the good life! I’ve had too much fun over the year and forgotten all about documenting it.. but here’s a small glimpse into The Good Life lately 💛

And what a year it has been! 😍 This time last year, Paul and I opened the centre with 7 empty rooms and a whole lotta hope (and debt). One year in and we couldn’t be more pleased. With nearly 20 practitioners on board, the centre has become everything we wanted it to be - a vibrant hub of helping and healing 💛 I have so much appreciate for the practitioners who have trusted in us to provide a quality space for their work. This team is amazing and I couldn’t be more proud 🥰 more soppy appreciation posts to come!

REWIND THERAPY ⏪ Our therapist, Kate - , is now offering Rewind Therapy for trauma. Rewind therapy is a visual-kinaesthetic dissociation technique that enables you to revisit traumatic memories in a safe and controlled way.

You do not have to retell or relive your traumatic experiences and therefore are at a reduced risk of being retraumatised.

PTSDUK recommend Rewind Therapy so that people can disconnect from their fight, flight, freeze reactions. Your brain is reprogrammed to feel safe and relaxed with these memories. Ultimately, it reduces the emotional connection to the memory if/ when you are ready to let go of it.

It can be used for trauma, PTSD, C-PTSD, phobias & OCD by reducing distress associated with trauma (e.g. nightmares, flashbacks, and anxiety). Many people notice a significant reduction in symptoms after 1 or 2 sessions.

It can be used as a standalone treatment or as part of a broader counselling programme.

Please get in touch with Kate via socials or our website if you would like to book a rewind session.

✨ New Therapy Spaces for Teens with Rhi ✨

If you’ve been worried about your teen’s confidence, mood, anxiety, friendships, or just the weight they seem to be carrying - you’re not alone. And support is available.

Our teen therapist, Rhi - , has opened a small number of new spaces and is welcoming young people aged 11+ who need a safe, grounding place to talk, explore emotions, and build resilience.

Rhi has a calm, gentle presence and a way of meeting teens exactly where they are. She is neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed, and creates a space where young people feel respected, understood, and free to be themselves - without pressure, judgment, or “fixing.”

Whether your teen is struggling with anxiety, low mood, school stress, sensory overwhelm, self-esteem, change, identity, or navigating neurodivergence, therapy can help them feel more stable, confident, and connected.

If you’ve felt that nudge that your teen might benefit from talking to someone - this is a good moment to act. 💛
